A complete (and I do mean complete) UI overhaul for the PC. Although the CK might not be needed for this one, as folk are already working on it now.

CAMP MOD! Please :cryvaultboy:

Alternate start (though with the cutscene this may be tricky?)

Follower horses

A mod similar to Enclave Commander for FO3 would be amazing. I loved that mod, probably my favourite in any game I've played! Obviously just have Stormcloak/Imperial soldiers to command.

And many more...

No, it shouldn't be a problem to write/rewrite a script that places the player somewhere else and skips the cutscene.

The problem with an overhaul is, that it's not the perfection and refinement of Skyrim, but just some other guys take on how an Elder Scroll game should be.

Read this article once, a guy who once played pen and paper tabletop RPG. And he remembered how there were so many different rulesets, and almost all of them came to be from a single good idea. And almost all of them felt they had to comme up witrh a good idea for every single aspect of the game.

So you had all these rulesets, this one had that good idea, that one had another good idea. Both were full of lame fill and dumb rules. And thats the same here, an overhaul might just have that good idea that everyone likes. And then have all these changes that aren't good ideas, but are there for the sake of being different.

Texture improvements. To everything. I want the enchantment table redone; it's lame, corny and ugly. I want dragon armour to not look so stupid; I want glass armour to look less girly; I want dwarven and elven armour to not look so dorky. I want higher resolutions on everything.

Gameplay improvements. I want animations to be more realistic. I want new spells. I want leveling to occur more slowly. I want it to be impossible for the PC to become godlike. I want crafting to be redone. I want for diplomacy (via speech) and stealth to be more viable as forms of interaction.

Animation improvements. I want battles to be more visceral. I want characters to use their weapons more realistically. I want magic to look more magical.

Lighting improvements. Enough said.

Shadow improvements. Enough said.

Quest improvements. I want new the majority of Skyrim quests to be redone to be longer, more interesting, and with better dialogue and/or voices.

Voice/dialogue/character interaction variety. Enough said.

CAMP MOD! Please :cryvaultboy:

Alternate start (though with the cutscene this may be tricky?)

Great ideas.

In order of priority (not counting general graphics packs and tools):

1. Patch, after patch, after patch...
2. Gameplay tweaks
3. UI overhaul
4. Content mods.

Creating a solid foundation for future mods should be a high priority.

What the [censored] does an UI overhaul have to do with how an Elder Scrolls game should be? A gameplay overhaul is what you are thinking of.

@topic

The aforementioned UI overhaul

maybe a hardcoe Mode like in NV

Bigger cities (srsly, if you look at Whiterun, there are spaces which seem to be intentionally left open for modders to add homes and NPCs, sloppy Beth, sloppy)

The ones i liked most in oblivion and morrowind were those that added new houses and the ability to buy furniture and place it anywhere.

Something that changes perks in the perk tree (altough I might do this myself) for example have the alchemy perk that has you discover more reagent effects available instantly.

How is it sloppy if they deliberately left room? seems like prudent planning to me.

For me, will get a few patches, and some armor, but first priority probably goes to appearance changing mods, getting rid of the breton's wrinkles and suchlike. They have some mods out like this now but they affect every character in the game, not only yours, which can lead to some weird effects sometimes, better for when custome races can be introduced.

Yes, I hear what you're saying and in many ways you are right, but the near-universal dislike of the UI needs addressing to a large extent.

Without going over what's been said a million times before, the default UI does not feel like it is designed for a Fantasy/RPG game. Fonts are too modern, world map, whilst looking nice, is not fully practical, etc. Far too many clicks are required for basic information and the skills screen is simply awful to use on PC. What needs to be done is a change from the developer's emphasis of 'looking cool' to 'being practical' for what it's there for.

EDIT: After re-reading this post, it seems I did go over everything that's been said before. Ahh well! ;)

Yeah the map is a major issue. Definitely a mod that replaces it with a proper map will be high on my shopping list!

I'm still not revealing what mod I'm going to work on because I don't wont my idea to be stolen >>;;. Let's just say, it'll make things in the game..a lot more convenient. So my own work is what I'm looking forward to right now lol.

Forgot. I'm sick of having to go to a different screen to do a map check.

It's 2011. I want an on screen mini-map, that I can position where I want. not this "pause game, check map," dookie.

and yes I have my mouse buttons assigned for that, but the game still has to pause. On-the-fly maps are like, the wave of the future...

anything that can/will fix bugs with the quest lines.

This.

I'm hoping we eventually get an official patch that takes care of it all (not holding my breath), but in the meantime a community patch would be a huge help. If Oblivion and FO3 are anything to go by, a community patch will be a requirement.

Already available:
Texture packs (for almost all landscapes, characters and many towns & items)
A better UI ('QD Inventory')
New spells, destruction scaling and slower leveling
Mod that stops NPC's from spouting their life-story
Enemy spawning adjustment, loot table re-balance
Various post-process and shader mods
Lots of crafting adjustments
About 400 nudity mods

What I want!:
New, intriguing companions
Introduce new stats/item effects: attack speed, running speed, chance to dodge, etc (perhaps within a new athletics skill tree)
Offer unique loot that is better than player-made items
Tabloid to reflect player status/accomplishments
Get marriage proposals from Jarls/Nobles as player status rises
Commission & control a castle settlement (as reward for completing main quest?)
Visible consequences of major quest-lines, in whatever manner is best

Also, 3 weeks to a month assumes that the CK is coming at the beginning of January rather than the end. I hope you're right...

Something for an improved PC UI. I'm okay with it now but it could be better.

In Oblivion I enjoyed a few of the housing mods and one that allowed you to actually plant some of the ingredients and food and harvest them. Would love to have something similar to play with again.
