Limited Ammo RPG idea

Limited Ammo RPG idea, You get a set amount at the start of the game and it's up to you to manage it. Maybe 500 of each type, less for missiles, nukes and it has to last the entire game. You run out, that is it. You're only allowed to put 1 point in any damage/defence related perk that effects yurself. You have to visit every settlement in the game too during your playthrough. You cannot pick up any ammo and you need to have every settlement green in every stat. Could prove a challenge. Once you have achieved all that you need to complete the MQ.

The idea sounds all over the place with the inclusion of settlement happiness and what not. Would just annoy players for that part.



The limited ammo idea might be a cool alternative to hardcoe mode from New Vegas. No pick ups, maybe include a system where ammo costs [censored]loads but can be purchased (otherwise, you wont get very far in the game), but none of the settlement stuff, that'd just ruin it.

I agree. ammo can still be made from old bullets and chemistry.

If that is what you want to do, go mod it up... It sounds like you want a survival horror game though more then a RPG. This is supposed to be a RPG.



But that is just my opinion. I wish you well on your mod :)

I would never do something like this, but if you decide to try it let me say that 500 rounds is a frightfully small amount of ammo. I am only slightly joking when I say that I have several times that much ammo in real life and I don't shoot things for a living like the SS does. If your intent is to make a melee game, that's one thing, but if guns are to have anywhere near the focus that they have in the vanilla game, you will need to allow access to more ammo.

I don't know, There been time when I have gone across area, side quest like the forage ran out of ammo. That place is no fun without no ammo and a swatter does not help.

Sounds like a feature for a speed run mode?

On my next playthrough I'm going to to only be carrying 200 of each bullet. And only the gun that my character uses so anything else doesnt get picked up or droped.

I like my idea in another thread for a new game. Basically...



1. Survivor difficulty.


2. No perks at all.


3. Using the SPECIAL book once is allowed (meaning no dupe glitch cheat)


4. Picking up bobble heads and magazines are allowed.


5. No power armor.
