Limited edition details

Post » Fri Jun 03, 2011 4:22 am

i know that the platinum dog tag and the SCAR camo skin cannot be got in the game without getting the limited edition, but what about the hologram decoy?! no details have been released anywhere that says you can get it a level _____, or whether you have to get it with the limited edition. this is very confusing.

one other thing. in the hero's journey trailer at http://www.gametrailers.com/video/gc-10-crysis-2/703239, it says there will be 80 ranks at the end, but i tall of a sudden changed to 50?

i have been following this game since 2009, and i can't wait for it to come out, but these changes without any notice are unnerving.

The Hologram Decoy is an attachment available to everyone at a certain level, you just get it instantly in the LE. Like all 5 classes being instantly usable.

Don't you just unlock it for the specific weapon after getting a certain amount of kills for it?

Could be, but it would make a lot more sense to be experience unlocked, since the LE practically gives you an XP boost all the way to level 5. Either way, it's still there for everyone.

A lot has changed. There was orignally 5 classes, Assault, Scout, Sniper, Heavy, Defender. The Jackal shotgun held 6 rounds instead of the Beta's 7 capacity. Plus more crap... The decoy will be available since it's an attachment.

I think they removed the Defender because the JAW is not a primary weapon anymore, it replaces grenades.

Anyone know if you can keep the bonuses permanently? On the advertisemants they underline 'Day 1 access'. To me, this seems ambiguous, as it could mean you simply get access and keep it from day 1, or that you can only access it within the first 24 hours.

Anyone remember the limited edition Amphibious APC code that came with Crysis?
I still have yet to redeem that code...

I tried to get mine two years ago when I remembered I had it, and firefox told me that the site's security certificate expired. I don't think it works in Wars, anyway.

Thanks for the reply but that doesn't answer my question.
Do you only get to keep the bonus unlocks for one day, or can you keep them permanently?

The limited edition gives you a day 1 XP boost. That means that the first time you start the game, you start at level 5. And you keep it that way, because there's no way to *lose* XP, and Crytek sure as hell won't do something as stupid as removing your starting XP after just 24 hours.

LOL I know that much, I was referring to the Scar hologram attachment and skin. Thanks for your replies, we're obviously getting our wires crossed.

I would pre order, but what is the PEGI age rating?
I've seen both PEGI 18 and PEGI 16.
Just askin'
And what are Dog Tags in this game?
Are they like in Bad Company 2 or something else.
Are there other camouflages?
How does the Holographic Decoy act?

The dog tags are a little mini version of your basic stats (name, level, and suit levels) You can pick the background and the limited edition gives you a platinum effect around the edge instead of a basic dark grey. You do get to collect dogtags of people you killed like Bad Company 2.
If you have played halo reach the hologram decoy works the same way. You fire a hologram of your character and they run to a designated spot you were aiming at. I Hope that helps.
