Limiting health for more fun...?

Post » Sun Jun 01, 2014 4:21 pm

Ulfius has a bit of a problem--I've put too many points into his health, to the tune of maybe 750-800 total health. Unless I crank it up to legendary, Ulfius can run around naked and not be in too much danger.

Really takes the fun out of being in a hostile environment, y'know?

I will probably reboot Ulfius in the near future. In the meantime, NĂ¡rienne is looking at a comeback, and I'm working on a new character, and I intend to keep applying lessons learned--like perhaps limiting the amount of health points I use.

Does anyone else do this? What's a good amount to cap oneself at? I'm going to play on Adept only, and be extremely sparing with my smithing upgrades (and naturally, stick with my beloved low-level gear).

Like I learned in Morrowind, less is more. Any pro tips out there?

On my current nord class character @ master difficulty & lvl 50, I've put 320 health into him and he's a waraxe loving dude that quickly looses patience with enemies (prone to impulsiveness) . Thus, he tends to get injured fairly easily especially since he has no combat aiding enchantments either, but is helped with highly smithed HA and shield. This quickly creates challenges and lateral thinking with strategy, so I say by all means limit your characters health and think about selecting or changing your difficulty settings to start with imo.

I have seen people talking about not putting any points into health, most do so to keep it realistic, others to increase the danger

I limit the health on my mage characters, usually no higher than 130-150, to make it more of a challenge and force them to really rely on magic.
