Elder Scrolls Modding:

Where are the best places to find information on Elder Scrolls games that will cover Skyrim news, as well as gameplay and lore once it is released?

I know of a few Wikis and some other sites but I haven't found many that update frequently with news, though the Wikis are certainly phenomenal. I will try to add what everyone suggests to the OP.

So... uh... just these forums, the Bethesda newsfeeds, and one of the wikis?

I really thought there were dedicated fansites beyond the wikis. And I know I've seen mod communities somewhere.

Try the http://www.imperial-library.info/ for Lore info.

Imperial Library
UESP.net
tesnexus.com
elderscrolls.com

These are the only good answers. Any others are just offshoots of one of these, in my opinion.

Just? You can find everything you need in these places. The UESP only has tons of info, mostly everything you would want to know about the series.

I use UESP all the time for lore and game info for Oblivion, it's awesome. I was looking for a news source though and Imperial Library seems like it's the best.

There's also wikia's for Oblivion and the other games.

Since when is the IL a better news source than the BethBlog for example? It's main focus is the books and lore of the game, not news, although it's normal - yes - that they dabble in that.

For information beyond what the developers are posting. That might mean more later, after the game is released, since Bethesda probably wouldn't post modding news or commentary about the quality/features/lore of the game. But I was using UESP today and noticed there wasn't much of anything about Skyrim on there yet and I wondered if there were good sites beyond the wikis. I figured this would be a good place to ask.

Yes, agree, UESP has not started a full Skyrim section. And for modding news, the BethBlog reports on some of the best sometimes, but the Nexus and PlanetTES will be the best bets.

I'm surprised someone hasn't started a Skyrim version of Waiting4Oblivion yet.

The Nexus and PlanetTES are not only fansites, but the heaviest modding sites for the series too.
