No lip syncing for the first greeting

Another non-game breaking but really annoying problem with a huge mod install here. Wasn't a problem before but playing on, this is really getting on my nerves :P

Anytime I talk to any NPC in the game for the first time, they voice their dialogues, but their lips stay shut! Talking to them again (either by continuing the conversation of just reinitiating their dialogue) properly gives me moving lips (so it's not missing .lip files)

I have a BAIN install going on with fully unpacked BSAs (and replacing the original BSAs with renamed ArchiveInvalidated!.bsas) I also have Elys silent voices on OBSE v20b5 if that matters.

No idea, but I can definitely say it's not caused by FCOM as it doesn't touch stuff like that. It's a little bit annoying that people who are running FCOM + 100 mods so often point out FCOM in their descriptions. Why not just write "a huge mod list" or something?

I would suspect this has something to do with a loading issue. I'm not techie enough to describe this very well, but I occasionally see the same phenomenon in my game - and I don't use FCOM :).
Oblivion has a ton of resources it has to load every time it needs something new - a city you haven't visited in a while, a wilderness cell with unique architecture, etc. It has to load, calculate, and draw A LOT of resources - we're talking thousands of mesh faces here plus associated textures, shading, and attributes - when you encounter a character for the first time in a while.

Sometimes, Oblivion can get bogged down - particularly when you have a lot of mods running on a slower computer - and so, to lessen stuttering or momentary freezing, it sacrifices some of the unessential resources. One of the resources it deems unessential are the LIP files - they have a lower priority than, say, drawing the character.

What I think is happening, is your machine just can't get the LIP files (with associated geometry changes) loaded and prepped fast enough when first loading the character into memory, so rather than forcing you to wait, it just doesn't play the lip file. Then, the second time you talk to the character, the game's already had time to grab the necessary resources. But that's just a theory.

LOL :P Sorry about that, I meant to say "an FCOM-based game here". Got kinda distracted I guess. Will correct the OP so peeps aren't misled.

And yeah, I thought about loading issues too but figured I might just ask in case someone had already got this thing before and knew what caused it (and hopefully eliminate it) :)
