xShadowcat I understand your grief about the MP7 but running the 4.6 mm round it's primary is for defeating body armor (just like FNH's 5.7) and only carried by high end bodyguards and such, while the MP5's are 9 mm and is seen in every two bit action movie around the world, the 5s just have greater publicity. But I have a feeling if you can get your engineer to buff your weapon and get armor piercing bullets from the grunt you will have one nasty machine pistol..
Personally I hope they run it as a side arm instead of a primary. But not being able to see how Brink will list it's stats it could be a pretty wicked primary. Bottom line I want one !!!(both in the game and real life!!!) I am almost willing to go to a Walmart just for that pre-order..
On a side note does anyone think that the two pre-order weapons (Hockler and Caeser) are going to be early access or truly exclusive??
Finally in the "Minds on the Brink" video around the 1 min mark they said they recorded 45 different weapons.. So I hope there are more than just 25, granted some of the weapons sounds change based on available modifications and some weapons get dropped out all together.. But I don't see how that would cut the total number almost in half.
That was just for creating their own raw. They obviously don't plan to use every weapon sound, its just to give a nice selection. Its also possible to combine sounds in different ways to make unique sounding guns. 25 Weapons is around the mark that was described by the devs in one interview or another.
I would prefer more options when it comes to things like the short rifles and especially the shotguns. I mean, as a medium, if you want a shotgun, there's only one choice, hopefully there are more at release than what the video shows. Especially considering the close range nature of the game.
With customization, there may be a great degree to make a weapon match your style. So its possible they just decided to give shotguns a larger amount of add-ons and upgrades, rather than offering more base weapons.
There is no indication of whether Spec-Ops and Psycho will be available as paid DLCs later on, but I wouldn't mind either way. Having a cool exclusive gun to show off down the road will be fun, but being able to get that revolver from the psycho pack would be cool too.
P.S. Lets see, compared to the mp5, the MP7 has an armor piercing round with higher velocity, lower recoil, better accuracy, not to mention the weapon shoots faster all while weighing less and being smaller....and somehow its always made to be about as powerful as a squirtgun in games.
