Listen, Lydia. Lemme holla atcha

Post » Sat Dec 10, 2011 12:42 am

I love Lydia so much. She's hardy and hearty, a little cold, a little distant, but faithful and determined. She was the http://cloud.steampowered.com/ugc/596954956027651023/166CEA26823D9D9C7FE8E265C173B90D3B23D439/ to http://cloud.steampowered.com/ugc/596954956044553836/324BEA039AECF29C8D755463ABA06B546C762BAF/ concept, who is also cold, distant, and determined. The only thing, and I mean only thing, that bothers me about Lydia is that she always expresses such exasperation when I want to trade with her.

Sometimes I open her inventory to take things from her.

Sometimes I open her inventory to give her something like a weapon, or armor, that she can (and sometimes does) use.

I'm not always trying to give you that heavy warhammer that I want to sell but don't feel like carrying! She should have a couple more options for speaking in the situation where I ask to trade with her. Perhaps she only says this if I give her something heavy that she doesn't plan on using, like a warhammer or something. If that's too complex, just give her a few other random comments to say. Also, throw in a few "silent" options as well! It wouldn't kill me if she just didn't say anything at all from time to time.

I "accidentaly" killed her during a fight with a cave bear on my first character because of this. Now with my second I'm trying to get some lisbian love going on. All she does is sit at the house anyway. And she eats all the bread and sweetrolls she wants. Why does she have to complain all the time. Oh she acts like she doesn't but I hear her munching away up there.

She's gonna pay for acting as if she doesn't enjoy being my slave housecarl. Sometimes I get carried away, swing at everything, and I don't see her. But I see her the majority of the time.

I like her, I just wish she had a slightly more developed set of talk options. Maybe including a "not talk" option.

She's bugged. Can't marry her even if she's flagged marriageable. There' some console wizardry to unstick her, but I do not know it by heart.

Click on Lydia, type bat ForceMar in the console, and presto, you can marry Lydia. This works with almost anyone, too.

I liked Lydia, and was planning on marrying her in the future. What is wrong with her conversation options?

I admit I haven't asked her to carry overly cumbersome stuff (max was a steel armor, was that 35 carry points or something?) along with a few greatswords and she didn't complain

All that I've heard was "I'm sworn to carry your burdens". Well! I guess she doesn't really like being a beast woman of burden? Then again, who does?

A giant solved my Lydia problem for me...

Have to hand it to her, though: The way she just stood there firing arrow after arrow into it in vain as it was bearing down took balls.

Lol, my friend, my fiancee and myself were talking about this the other night. It's funny how she's so very upset that she has to follow you around and carry all your stuff.

I honestly just got rid of her. Since companions are stuck to a base level depending on when you first meet them (IE: Lydia will always be level 2-5 depending on when you got to Whiterun and acquired her.) which I think is ridiculous.

I hope so too. I've been running solo for a long time. (From level 8 until level 29 on this character. Was level 32 on my Bosmer Archer Theif but quit him because Shadowmere didn't spawn out of the lake.) Right now, I'm going to wait until I hit about level 35ish or so and pick up the Sword-Maiden for a while.
