Listing Anywhere of Enemy Settlement Spawns?

Post » Sat Jan 16, 2016 6:41 pm

I've heard the spawns are wacky for the settlements, with baddies sometimes spawning inside the middle of bases.

Is there a listing Anywhere of Enemy spawn locations for each Settlement? It'd be nice to have an idea of where the main threats will be coming from so I can build my defenses and entrances accordingly for each settlement. I tried searching but didn't find anything

I don't think so, however if you add walls/fence around your whole settlement and just add a gate, raiders an only enter through the gate. Hope that helps :)

???? This is the first I've heard of anything to do with Gates limiting spawn points. I have never built a gate, but almost all of my settlements have had enemies spawn right in the middle of them somewhere regardless if I have walled it off or not. Some people say you can even completely wall them off with no way in and they will spawn inside.

Personally I have given up on walls. I don't understand why they mislead you with Sturgis telling you to build walls when they really don't seem to do anything.

But do gates really work that way? Walls might be an option then....

My first playthrough I built a wall of turrets around sanctuary, then put a turret right behind each one facing into the settlement

My suggestion is to work it out for yourself. After a couple of attacks you will get a fair idea of where the game drops the foes and adjust your defences accordingly.

When things spawn I think they are dropped from above. I have seen them drop a couple of times.

Sometimes the invaders send an advance party with reinforcements approaching from the perimeter.

Some of the more organised foes spread out using ranged weapons and grenades utilising cover to take pot shots

At a few of my settlements there are piles of green goo that never go away.

Some of the settlers have plasma guns and the goo marks a spawn point.

The best advice is always have a couple of a HMG's covering your settlements internal open spaces - the ones behind your walls. Keep your RL's pointing outside, because if used for internal cover their splash damage can kill your settlers.

I believe they do work similar to this. I have found that so long as there aren't gaps, they tend to come around through the gates. For instance, recently while defending sanctuary (there was only 2 ways in, both with gates) they had to actually go through the gate. Not sure if this is a 100% always works, but has usually worked for me....
