A little bit stuck... please help

Post » Thu Nov 26, 2015 9:20 pm

It's hard to find what I am looking for without reading any spoilers. Basically I wan to make a bed for some settlers right at the beginning of the game. I see I need some material. I have the steel, just need some cloth. So how do I get or acquire that? Also where do I put the bed, in an empty house besides mine?

I want to make these beds, but I am afraid I am going to see some spoilers in the strategy guide or online guides. Read something I didn't want to, so I think it's time to ask here.

So do I need to build these beds right away or can I wait a bit till I find the proper material (cloth I believe) and make these beds. Also does it matter what kind of bed I make or is a mattress good enough and where do I place them.

Go into workshop mode and scrap couches, etc in the abandoned homes( in WS mode before you scrap something it'll show you what it will yield to you ). Cigarettes give you cloth as well. The beds AFAIK need to be under a roof, so place them in any of the buildings and you should be good.

Thank you very much Dweller BMF. Will try that out. I didn't know I can scrap couches. Hopefully I can figure out how to do it.

I kept the couches around for immersion and because NPCs can sit on it. Look for the rugs instead, they are all worn down and look ugly anyways. Also pre-war money can be broken down into cloth so keep an eye out for those when scavenging.

The best source for cloth is the easy answer - kill, kill, kill. And take the shirts literally off their backs.

Almost all the non armor pieces that raiders and hostile npcs wear can be broken down via scrapping to at least 1 cloth component. Gas masks are bonus as it gives leather and cloth.

There's tons of knick knacks you find that also breaks down as cloth, but the kill and take the shirts off their backs method is the most satisfying. And easiest.

Plus word will get around to the raiders there is some Shirt the Ripper out there, and you'll get street cred with the mercs.

Finally done it. Thank you everyone, greatly appreciate the help. Now I put the quest on hold. Once the beds were made it said to speak to so and so. With this groups attitude, I say Frack them, not going to help them now. Maybe latter but now onto my own stuff. :)
