Is it just me or is it nearly impossible to get armor for your own faction without having to killing an ally and taking it.

like the armor on the cover. it is as far as i know, impossible to get it without having to kill one of the rangers. also the rangers sequoia. the only way to get it is to kill a guy at camp golf.

is it possible to get these things without killing members of your own faction.

Lead them into battle with an enemy and let them die, thats how I got my Legionare armor.

i was hoping you would be given a faction uniform upon joining. and then receiving other better versions of that factions armor as you progress in rank.

I don't exactly recall but, I think if you do enough good work for certain factions, you get armor as a present (to show their appreciation). I don't know if this happens with every faction or not. Also do what "smerdykov" said, just wait for them to die and loot them, you do not get "punished" for doing this.

Well with the NCR you can get some of their better armor at Rally point charlie (Or something simular) Such as the one with the scarf and one with armor. It is however sad that you never get Ranger armor by playing fair with NCR.
