I'm a little confused...

Hi all,

I'm a little bit confused, as the topic title suggests. I've spent the last hour installing Francesco's Leveled Creatures-Items Mod and so far everything's fine, I've created my Bashed Patch and everything looks a-ok ingame. However, I've also installed the Unofficial Oblivion Patch (along with the unofficial Shivering Isles patch) and then topped them off with the Supplemental Patch. However, I notice on the patches for Frans page on TESNexus (http://www.tesnexus.com/downloads/file.php?id=17621) that there are MOBS compatibility patches for Fran's and the UOP's. These compatibility patches overwrite all of the fixes the Supplemental patches incorporate, and I'm not even sure why I need the compatibility patches in the first place but it seems like they are necessary.

I'm just a little confused on what I need here, if anyone can provide clarification/advice I would be very grateful.

I have no idea what the 'supplemental patch' is, but the MOBS patch for Fran's is needed to correct the weapon stats for some weapons the UOP alters. If you installed Fran's with MOBS then weapon stats will be altered, the UOP fixes some errors on vanilla weapons though and thus turns the stats for some weapons back to vanilla values (since Fran's is in esm format and UOP is in esp format the UOP will overwrite the changes from Fran's no matter what your load order is).

I didn't know about that patch until I found an Elven Longsword and thought the stats were a bit odd (compared to my other weapons). Found out that it had vanilla stats and that the UOP changed it back to vanilla. Patch installed, problem gone.

Unofficial Oblivion Patch Supplemental, maybe? :whistling:

Any patches and extra plugins you need for Frans (including the UOP MOBS stats) can be found http://www.tesnexus.com/downloads/file.php?id=17621 However, IIRC, the patches work be replacing the UOP plugins, so you'd be wiping out the UOPS fixes by using them.

I'd recommend using http://www.tesnexus.com/downloads/file.php?id=28537 instead. Importing them into Bash will give you back Fran's weapon stats while preserving the changes made in UOPS.

Apologies, I should have been more clear, I was talking about the Unofficial Oblivion Patch Supplementals which can be found here (http://www.tesnexus.com/downloads/file.php?id=27710)

OK, So I now understand why I need the MOBS patches to maintain compatibility between Fran's and the unofficial patches, but it looks like I'll still be losing all of the additional fixes the supplemental patches provide since the MOBs patches will overwrite the ESP files added by the Supplemental patches. Is there anything that can be done there, or is it a case where I'll just have to bite the bullet and do without the fixes the supplemental patches provide?

Thanks in advance, this forum is very helpful.

EDIT: In the time it took me to type this message it looks like Thomas Kaira found the answer I was looking for. Thank you very much :D

One last question before I get out of your hair: Is the optional combat setting esp supplied with the seperate MOBs mod you linked to necessary when using Fran's, or should I just use the MOBs SI.esp file and be fine?

Well of course supplemental patch for UOP, but I didn't know about it and thus didn't know what exactly it does. Till now at least (looked it up on Nexus).

Yes, everything you want (MOBS, MOBS SI, and the optional combat settings for both versions) are there.

Enjoy. :)
