Yes there are children, they are just like the ones in Fallout 3 and New Vegas. End of discussion. Threads like these tend to go south very quickly.

I hope they have a lot good animations, similar to Children of Morrowind.

There are , they are essential npcs, one thread today, and one yesterday, were locked, because some people have a somewhat odd idea of what curbs their 'freedom' in a rpg.

Personally I can't wait for beggar orphans pestering you at every step.

Just for the shear rage of annoyance of others...

Is there an interview where children are confirmed? I've seen nothing about it.

Children have been confirmed for months, and on multiple occasions. Usually I'd try and dig up a quote, but in this case it's been confirmed so many times please just take our (those in the topic confirming it) word.

I can't wait to see the children of all kinds of races, if they added them.

Emma's Children of Morrowind was a masterpiece of a mod. It didn't just add children. She had them skipping along, playing, walking along walls, she also added little playgrounds, archery targets for teenagers (the kids were not all just one age). The total life added to Morrowind just from that one mod was incredible. If the Devs can do half of what Emma did with Morrowind it will be a great addition to the game.

From UESP:
World

Five large cities, comparatively larger than those in Oblivion, are available to explore (and to be attacked from above by dragons), along with a wider variety of caves and subterranean areas. Fast-traveling to locations already discovered has returned. Cooking, farming, wood-cutting, and mining, in addition to weapon-smithing, can be done in different towns. Children are also featured in the game.[1][4]

4 was http://www.vg247.com/2011/01/08/the-elder-scrolls-v-skyrim-details-outed-on-combat-leveling-races-more/

As long as they do not steal from you, attack you, or constantly use increasingly childish insults at you, then their presence in the game should be fine.

I think children will be a great addition! As someone said in one of those locked threads, along with playing and running around I think it'd be cool to see a few Nordic kids learning how to fight from a trainer.

Maybe you could choose to teach a few things to a kid after you become well known - they could turn into a bit of an adoring fan (but less annoying)...

And although we have to dance around certain words on here, essential NPC's that they are, I think it could be good (in a sad way) if one of them was 'taken' by a dragon or involved in some perilous quest after you've got to know them a bit.

There are a lot of quest options to explore with the addition of children.

Children are in, and for me it is a welcome addition as I never play as a sadistic murderer anyway, so I have no reason to attack them :-)

1. Will children be able to report crimes?
2. Will we have a creepy kid that reads souls and sees into the future?
3. Will there be children in the Thives Guild?

I really hate the idea of children after playing Fallout 3, I accidentally engaged in combat with one and it broke the main quest for me so that I had to use console commands to get any further. Really if it can′t be done without it being game breaking like that I′d rather just skip them. And having them be immortal is just plain silly. I don′t know why we have such crazy laws about children but I think they are over the top and I′d rather have no children than have them and be forced to have them break immersion more so than they would if there were no children.

Yeah the kids in FO3 were FUGLY.

Good thing we have mods, Children Of The Wasteland (I actualy came up with that name (im part of the CoC team)) makes kids alot cuter, and changes the base model for kids faces.

I attempted to recreate Emmas mod in Oblivion (ICNPC). Though without the animations.

All discussion or mention of child killing has been removed. Please refrain from discussing it as we will warn you for doing so and it will get the thread locked as well if we have to edit to frequently.

I talk about kids all day without having to discuss their demise or lack of demise. It's really not that difficult.

I can't wait to see a cute little argonian kid. :)

it was just a question guys, I love Bethesda for what they do and if they have children in the game I think is cute thats all. Why you guys, the ones that are in a diferent state of mind have to be so harsh in the topic, after all you all were children at a certain time of yout life so just be cool with it. Is just a game!!!

Whenever Khajiit children come up I can't help but to think about that one Doctor Who episode where cat man and a human woman show their kids, and they're all small kittens...

Yeah... it's simple. Invincible NPCs close a certain door (so to speak).
