6th page OMG!I am going to fight this crazehttp://www.youtube.com/watch?v=eZeYVIWz99I

As for people who claim that this show is little more then a fad or meme almost out of denial it seems. Then I do wonder at what point does it stop being just another fad when the show itself has been around since October and has only https://lh6.googleusercontent.com/-qdwH1iZy8n4/TWjB2ts3fAI/AAAAAAAAByo/_ziZufLzOWY/s1600/1298706365104.png since then over the span of nearly 8 months. This is still the case based on a few sites despite season 1 ending with season 2 still coming out around 11-11. This is not something that will be going away if only for a very long time with such a already large fanbase.

Edit: To reinforce what I have said earlier do try to avoid spammy posts/off topic discussions. We have been given another opportunity and I would rather not see us waste it.

Agreed.

When I watched the first few episodes, I reckoned that, despite being clearly a good show, would, at least among the male internet-forum demographic, be nothing more than a short-lived thing. But anyone who has watched more than a handful of episodes cannot deny that Lauren Faust has created something very substantial, and rather more clever than it's letting on.

Series one only got better as it went on; I'm really hoping series two lives up to it.

One thing that makes me love this series so much is that a lot of fans aren't afraid to express their love of the show. There are many http://youtu.be/muVfidujxRg of students even using Friendship is Magic in presentations and such. Even I've put ponies in a demonstration of how to draw them.

SNIP

I'm just waiting for soeone to create an MLP video thats shows MLP promotes satanism. :P

That would be awesome. :)

Anyways, can anyone tell me who the antagonist(s) is in the MLP universe. Are they just wrapped up in solving day to day problems for their pony friends?

As I'm skimming the forum topics I keep seeing this thread and momentarily reading "ponies" and a certain other "p" word and thinking, "this doesn't seem like an appropriate topic for this forum."

I got into the show a few weeks ago, It's a great show despite the name. Why I like this is because of the subtle jokes that only advlts can get (the "punch has been spiked!") and how hilarious the episodes can be (Pinkie Pie going nuts, and all the faces the ponies make, my avatar is proof of this!). I wish Friendship is Magic would get more popular where I live (the UK), so I could put ponies into presentations without being laughed at! Anybody who is really sceptical of the show (I was when I first heard of it's popularity online) should give it a chance really (don't watch the pilot episodes first, there are better episodes out there).

I just watched the second episode. I gotta say, Fluttershy is my favourite! I've been giggling the whole time. Unfortunately, my flatmates just don't understand :sadvaultboy:

Pinky Pie is completely out of left-field, the incongruity of her reactions to the situations tends to startle me to giggling.

Sometimes the show can be a little dopy (I have yet to see any redeeming qualities in Rarity, despite her supposed "generosity"), but overall I haven't been put off by the plots, dialog, or characters. Unlike all the drama, angst, and unreal situations in advlt shows, the plots for these episodes (barring the first two) are just about mundane situations that I can relate to, rather than end-of-the-world, high drama/tension/explosions. Even the end of the whole Nightmare Moon thing was an interesting twist (i.e. what finally ends up happening to Nighmare moon herself).

Can't say I like the whole royalty thing going on (there should be a proper Republic), but it seems that "Princess Celestia" is less a princess and more like some sort of goddess (but not bat-crap crazy like Almalexia) as part of the creation myth.

The only thing that could make it better would be to replace the ponies with corgis. :hehe:

That episode has one of the best songs in the show IMO, although the episode "Dog and a Pony Show" makes me love Rarity a lot more.

Originally I didn't like her either, but she's my favorite* now

*My favorite along with Twilight Sparkle, Rainbow Dash, Pinkie Pie, Fluttershy, and not-Applejack.

Good for you and by the way, http://i620.photobucket.com/albums/tt284/Tassadaritze/WelcomeToTheHerd.jpg. And you will probably warm up to Rarity as others of said as the series progresses with episodes like 'Suited for Success' and 'A dog and a pony Show' in particular with the show itself getting better as it progresses in episodes.

http://www.thinkgeek.com/tshirts-apparel/womens/c145/. (I've had this shirt for about a year now)

I find myself sympathizing most with Twilight Sparkle - bookish, doesn't put up with nonsense, etc.

You know, I used to have My Little Pony ponies when I was little. The only one I really remember was this blue one with I think was rainbow hair, but I'm not sure, it might have been yellow. You could pull the tail out, it was supposed to look like it was "growing" and then, I forget how, but it could be retracted to a shorter length. The sound it made being pulled out was somewhat mechanical... we called it "my little farting pony." Honestly, I don't remember much about which ponies I had. I think one was a pale pink, but I don't recall the mane color. I think I might have even seen the original episodes - but, like so many other shows from my early wee years (Popples, anyone?), I don't remember a darn thing at all. Oh, and those brands on their flanks, I remember some of those were scented. Which is kind of weird when you think about it - smelling pony butts? Really?

You know, the more I think about it, the more I think I had a pony toy that must've been Twilight Sparkle, if that character existed at the time. I distinctly remember having a pony with a purple mane, and the brand on her flank looks very familiar. Or I could be deluding myself. It's not like I can even remember things that happened a month ago, let alone 20 or so years ago.
