A little something I put together

Post » Thu Jul 22, 2010 4:07 am

First of all, I must stress it isn't my intent to offend anyone. I bet the devs use something like this internally to make sure they know who they're making the game for.
This is the image that shaped in my head after a month on this forum and I'd like to share this knowledge with some of the newer members so that we have fewer flame threads without reason. :spotted owl:

Post any (constructive) critisizm freely, but please, no flaming.

The file is just 300KB. It doesn't really matter.

Interesting document, but I fail to see how it'd be useful in any practical way to forum users. And the categories are very broad; I don't fit at all neatly into any one of those, although I suppose I'm not the "average" gamer or forum-goer either.

In any case, nice work on typing it up.

I can't find myself in there.

That either means there's a strong opinion that I didn't consider (post it, if you please) or chances are you're a wholist by my chart

Well according to this I'm a cross between a Roleplayer and a God-Moder.

Edit: of course I feel my god-like status should be earned. Akin to reaching Epic level in DnD

Why can't I want total and super hard immersion and roleplay to the extremes of it?

Oh, after I read it again, you meant that roll-playing thing. Carry on then.

I'm just being cautious. There's no telling the people's reactions if it's directly in the thread itself.

You forgot to put on your sunglasses while saying that.

Sorry

Your observations are true in many ways. I hate it when people start "suggesting" how teh game should be done. I put quotes around "suggesting", because their suggestions sound more like "demands". The only ones that have any say in what the game should have and what not is Bethesda. So please stop spamming "Do you think will be in the game" topics.

I like the red for danger. It would be awesome if certain peoples forum name was also highlighted so youd know before hand that they would get angry.

You say most people would fit somewhere along the boundaries and borders...well I adamantly disagree sir...the borders are unrealistically small. For the sake of realism how are so many of us supposed to fit on there...not to mention how am I supposed to balance myself on that thin line with all these other people pushing and shoving from all sides...and don't even get me started on the dice-rollers...they keep trying to pelt us over here with their little six-sided cubes...sometimes they hit and sometimes they miss, but I swear, eventually, one of them is gonna take an eye out. On top of all that I have poor agility and terrible balance and sooner or later I'm going to fall into one of these more stereotypical categories, and that will inevitably break my immersion in your 'fantastical' chart.

How? Avoid the red areas  . They'll do anything to drag you in.

I'd add a colour to the "casual" box - admit you're a caual gamer and you run the risk of being blamed for the decline of the series due to stupidity, ineptitude or general "mainstreaminess" (I am amazed that word didn't bring up a red squiggly line) :P

I should add this isn't meant as a flame - I consider myself a casual gamer for the most part.
