A little theory

Post » Fri Nov 27, 2015 7:13 pm

Ok so i cant seem to find it, but someone pointed out a posible glitch in the trailer/demo (not sure which one). In this picture he linked he showed a scene where people where entering the vault from before the bombs fell. You see soldiers and the big sign, along with a metal wire fence. Behind the fence was a NPC or some sort that seemed to look like he was wearing a vault suit.

Now if annyone can still find that picture, please post a link so i can add it, cause i cant find the topic nor person that posted this in the forum here earlier.

Picture can be seen here: https://twitter.com/G27Status/status/608400535801184257(thanks to poster RYO)

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Now i will explain further, but next up is 2 more pictures, one concept art, the other a ingame shot from the trailer, lets talk about the last one first.

In this shot you see a dark street at night i guess, with a trenchcoat wearing man with fedora. Some speculate he's the Mysterious Stranger, but that is not inportant to what i will explain later. Next to this man on the left is "Memory Den", what seems to be a bar or nightclub guessing at first glance by the pink/red neon sign. Here is a image: http://overmental.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/06/Fallout-4-Memory-Den-screen-cap-750x431.jpg

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Now on to the last screen then i will explain why i think they are related; http://imgur.com/r/fallout/dE4DHQu

In this screen we see concept art depicting a room with a almost nightclub like apearance containing VR Capsules, alot like those from Brauns vault 112 experiment. I believe this to perhaps be the inside of the "Memory Den" of the above picture.

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Now why are these related? Wel i remember seeing the poster of the first screenshot (the one with the vault suit wearing guy behind the fence) mention that the subject is their one moment, but one frame later he is gone. He had to anolyze the screen frame by frame to even notice it.

Now i believe that perhaps Memory Den is just what the name says, a way to relive past events in a VR simulation. That would make the scene from the trailer showing those people going in the vault, where the vault suit wearer is seen, to maybe be a memory you as Protag are reliving from a different perspective. As said above i think the concept art above is the interior of this place "Memory Den", so going into VR pods to relive some old memories not only suits the name of the joint, it also would explain what we originaly percieved as a possible glitch, and some even said was maybe time travel. I sincerly hope Time Travel is out the window here, that would just be cliche and way to far fetched for the fallout universe, but we do know VR technology exsist in the universe of fallout.

What are your thoughts on this?

I personally think it's really just a glitch... they forget to hide the PC in the cutscene. The PC has to be somewhere during a cutscene. Because of this he is mostly hidden somewhere.

So the reason why he is there for a second? The 'movePlayer' command in the cutscene to move the PC to a hidden location during the scene, was delayed. So he disappeared to late.

People think too much on this...

That is an interesting find! And if you look closely at the man with the fedora and trenchcoat, his right hand looks like the hands on the mysterious man with the vault jumpsuits. The hands look robotic! I'm not sure about the theory though but these findings definitely raise a few questions.

I love all these theories people are coming up with, it is really interesting to see what people think Fallout 4 will have to offer us and all the little details. I just hope you all know that at this stage a lot of the theories or ideas you have are mostly just speculation based on no actual definite information, it's all just conjecture based on little bits and pieces that were shown in only a few seconds of trailer footage. We haven't been told or shown enough to really have a decent guess at what the story of the game really does have in store, I feel like a lot of you are setting yourself up for disappointment.

This is just my opinion after all please don't go mad at me, I just feel like most, if not all of the theories you have at this point and this early before the game release should be taken with a grain of salt.

Well it fun to try and piece little thing together, but personaly i would not be disapointed if Memory Den just turns out to be a boring bar. :D

Oh without a doubt it is fun to try to think about what the game will hold, otherwise what would be the point in the trailers and detail they give to us. It's to get us thinking and to get us interested in it all, but I just feel a lot of people are going to play the game and be upset that their theory they spent hours thinking about didn't come true.

There have been so many crackpot theories thrown out ("the main character is an android!", "the game will all be a dream!", etc. etc.). But yours is the first that makes sense, and you have some good detective work going on. That would be a really cool mission/part of the storyline. We shall see.

Someone has a lot of time on their hands. Interesting though, I for one don't go frame by frame to catch all of these little details
