Little things that annoy you

Post » Tue Jan 19, 2016 5:09 am

Quick saving before a tough fight with the radio on, then keep dying and reloading and hearing that same part of the song over and over.

Taking a companion with you, in this case robot Curie. But somehow she gets lost and is nowhere to be seen, and there's a copule of irradiated yao guais up ahead. So you duck into a house and sit on the couch and wait 1 hour, hoping she would show up. Nope, instead there's fighting outside now. The yaoguais are fighting a legendary bloated glowing one. They see me and it looks like I'm going to have to fight this with a handicap and without the lone wanderer perk. Then all of a sudden I hear a robotic voice with a french accent:

Where are all ze people?

And she casually strolls up from out of nowhere.

Not being able to control THE VOLUME OF MY VOICE !

When giving an order to a companion you whisper or shout based on the distance to the target, not the distance to my companion.

I have Strong who just stands there getting shot at and saying, where are all the people?

Then he constantly stands in front of me! Just lined up a shot, oh look the idiot stands in front! Trying to get out of the door, oh look blocked by an idiot!

Worse is when you have no suit on and are at the top of a tall building and he runs straight at you and knocks you off the side of the building, to your death or very near.

When you go and clear out Vault 95 for Cait then realise the freaking (bugged) quest didn't actually start -_____-

Settlers not recognising you as Dear Leader ("You've got a dangerous look about you.I hope you're not here for me.")

Not being able to vertcally incline fences!!

Preston Garvey.

Oh and when you've had a convo with a companion - usually an outright dismissal or a change from one to another and the camera gets stuck on you for 5 minutes.

-Settlers walking into a wall instead of going through the doorway 3 feet to their left.

-If/when they DO figure out how to walk through the doorway, they don't close it behind them.

-Repetitive NPC dialouge (yes, Mr. Random Settler. I know Graygarden is run by robots).

-Taking stuff from a living raider is "thievery", but if you murder them in cold blood first it's all good.

-Loose items not staying put (can't decorate settlements).

-All companions are suicidal imbeciles who charge into enemy mobs and aggro everything.

-Settlements with 200+ defence that still need you to show up IN PERSON to defend them from 3 supermutants, when you were in the middle of a quest.

This, as well as holotapes now being misc items.

Not being able to send companions to their original homes once they've been sent elsewhere. You're telling me that Piper is gonna give up her home, job, and sister to farm for the Minutemen?

A perfectly functioning settlement collapsing the instant you leave producing no food, water, power and the bed count goes to zero. Return and everything goes back to normal except the happiness is in the crapper over it.

Its not said anywhere, but when you tell them to leave you and it brings up the list of where you want to send them just press TAB to "cancel" the menu and they will return to their place. I figured that out by accident.

I've heard this only works if you've never sent them anywhere manually.

- easy locks containing useful items...hard locks containing worthless crap...lockpick 'mini-game' in general is starting to annoy me..

- misc. pip boy menu way too cluttered..

- throwing a grenade, just to have everyone clear out before significant damage is dealt..

- sniping at enemies, and having Deacon say.."and we're shooting at what"...you have a scope on your gun dummy..use it..

- running out of AP inside power armor while sprinting...its power armor, it should only drain cores faster..

Can't remove the compass. Seriously....it's 2015 and we still don't have the option to alter the parts of the UI.

And the lock picking minigame. Hate minigames. A lot.

I gripe about these in every one of the latest Bethesda games.

That doesn't work if you've already sent them elsewhere. Something I didn't know for a good few hours on my first two playthroughs.
