Lizard Guy? [THEY MIGHT DISCUSS SPOILERS]

Post » Wed Oct 19, 2011 3:55 pm

I don't think that anyone has the right to talk about a game if they don't know what they are talking about. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qTBhP97sKGU

They start talking like they know TES but then they call Argonians "The lizard guy". Thoughts on this? Do you guys think people have a right to discuss through a game preview or article if they really don't know the material well enough? Are you able to overlook this oversight or does it get under your skin or make your eye twitch as a fan?

Doesn't bother me, unfortunately we cannot expect all journalists to understand everything they are covering. (Just watch the news once)

So when it comes down to it, take the info they give with a grain of salt or look at it yourself to understand what they are saying.

Or hope someone from Beth is there to lay them straight.

Absolutely not. How can you call yourself a professional if you're not even proficient in your own field?

What? Doctors don't have PHD's...?

They are game reviews not doctors or rocket scientists plus I call Argonians that cause they creep me out just well you know usually not in a game review.

Honestly, I do not think it is that bad they said "The lizard guy".

Not as bad as IGN:

"Next up, we have Todd Howard giving us an exclusive look at Skyrim, the next installment in the Oblivion series!"

Actually, I've noticed most previewers calling Argonians "Lizard men."

I think it is just to simplify it for the folks new to the series.

Lizard Guy, if they called them Lizardmen, Lizard Folk or something I think that would be alright. But Lizard guy is totally unproffesional. Though they just get told what to cover, they might not give a rat's ass about Skyrim, but have just been told by whoever they work for that they should ciover it.

It's a [censored] video game that they played for three hours.

Why do you care that they don't know the lore? Also, "professional" is a word that does not apply to video game journalism.

The combat is elegant and awesome hm. did they really play a TES game? I love them but I've never thought that about any of its combat.
