LMG's Not acting like LMG's

My biggest gripe with Crysis 3 is with the LMG's, The fact that they svck at what they are intended to do I.E. Being able to lay down large amount of led down range.

They just flat out don't work and end up being inferiour Assault Rifles with over sized magasines.

What I would do first of all is Reduce the recoil considerably When Standing Still and get an even greater Accuracy & recoil bonus when crouched.

I would also make the weapons handle so that you can keep the Trigger down and still retain excellent accuracy and recoil but ONLY if the shooter is standing still.

if you strafe and power jump with an LMG, you should get insane recoil.

The O.G.R. is a beast of a weapon, easily one of my favourite looking weapons in Crysis 3. However it has no place in the game:

It has:
A ton of recoil requiring you to tap fire it essentially making it a **** takedown.
A 50 Round Belt magasine.... needs to be double that at least for the drawbacks it imposes.
Mediocre damage output (Outshot at all ranges by the SCAR)

Not only that, The Claw is going to make this gun all but redundant as it fills the same exact shoes as the O.G.R but does everything better:

The Claw Has:
Greater Damage output
60 Round Drum mag instead of 50 round belt mag.
Assault rifle reload speed.
Assault rifle mobility and accuracy.

At the moment, Crysis 3 only caters to one playstyle, The run and gun twitchers.

It would be very refreshing to see a more defensive playstyle be introduced by designing a weapon around that playstyle.

I agree with this, it would be nice to see the LMG's capable of laying down some sort of suppression, run and gunners can just charge the LMG's to clean them up.

This isn't possible unless you play no perks servers unranked. The speed of the game is too fast for LMG's anyway they should never have been implemented. The only thing they could really do is increase hipfire accuracy so you can just armour up and go in tank style and just kite players so your team can clean up the rest. It would be good if ranked servers could have perks disabled...no maneuverability makes the game much better despite what some people say...this isn't an arena shooter.

...this isn't an arena shooter.Sadly, it is. The levels are way too small for it to be classified as a sandbox shooter. Also the gameplay pace is high, which is what arena shooters usually are. Crysis used to be much more like Battlefield (moderate pace and tactical), now it's much more CoD (fast and tactless run&gun with killstreaks and perks) though it has retained a few Crysis traits that make it more enjoyable than CoD IMO.

Arena shooters do not have mags/ ADS. They also have air control, strafe jumps, wall jumps. No spawn weapons, no specialisations, equal spawning opportunities etc. This is a classic style shooter with nanosuits. People like to claim its an arena shooter for nostalgic purposes but its nothing like an arena shooter in any way....except its fast, but still not even close to arena speeds in hardcoe modes.

People seem to use "arena shooter" a lot as a negative connotation these days...
