Load Order Disaster

Post » Fri May 13, 2011 8:34 am

I just did a fresh install of oblivion and decided to try the major overhaul mods. This is my first time trying them. I installed the following -
OOO
MMM
Francesco's
WarCry
Cobl
Bob's Armoury
FCOM

I can't get the game to start. It doesn't even show the 'Bethesda' movie at the start. Here is my order using BOSS.

Where is your bashed patch? Have you run this load order through BOSS? Why is the ayleid home mod at the bottom there?

Remove:

Mart's Monster Mod - Resized Races.esp <--- Do not use this with COBL Races or other cosmetic mod that affect the Vanilla races
Francesco's Optional New Creatures Add-On.esm
Cobl Tweaks.esp
Francesco's Optional Files.esp <--- You had to choose the separate files option
Mart's Monster Mod - Fran's leveled quests.esp <-- I believe this requires SI
Mart's Monster Mod - Gems & Gem Dust.esp <-- OOO already has G&GD
Mart's Monster Mod.esp <-- Do not use this with OOO/FCOM
Mart's Monster Mod - Diverse Imperial Armor.esp <-- Do not use this with OOO/FCOM
MMM-Cobl.esp <-- Does not yet work fully with FCOM
Francesco's 10 days respawn time - 1-20 day lenght rescale.esp <--- Use the bashed patch tweak to do this
Mart's Monster Mod - Spawn Rates - Moderate Increased.esp <-- You can only use FCOM's general spawn rates plugins

Edit: missed one

Bashed Patch? Sorry, I'm a noob with load orders.
Yes I have run my load order through boss.
That's my own mod.

I did everything you said, still no joy.

@corepc - I have everything you stated

Not familiar with Wrye Bash, I'll have to give it a go.

I already tried deleting the .ini. Had to do that once this week already to fix my game, no joy this time.

you need wrye bash to get FCOM to work. download it http://tesnexus.com/downloads/file.php?id=22368. you'll need wrye python and version 282 archive version to use it. build up your bashed patch and follow the bash tag suggestions as BOSS suggests.

Wrye Bash may look intimidating at first, but that's because advanced and simple commands are all offered together. Just click on the very small ? icon in a circle at the bottom of the screen, and you'll get a good help screen filled with information. Look for "Bashed Patch" in the list on the left, and click on it, then follow the instructions.

The nice thing about Wrye Bash is that it really does make running Oblivion a great deal easier, and not just for the technically savvy, but for anybody.

I've got it all up and running but seem's some of the meshes have problems. Not sure which, but it's in the first dungeon where the wall crumbles and there's a skeleton.

The MMM BSA or Frans BSA may not be loading. Make sure MMM.bsa is named FCOM_Convergence.bsa, and rename FraNewItems.bsa to FCOM_Francescos.bsa.

Edit: The Fran BSA was probably registered in the sArchiveList by the EXE, so you need to remove FraNewItems.bsa from the end of your sArchiveList in the Oblivion.ini.

Did as you said, the problem is still there. I've figured that the mesh error is related to containers. It affects almost everything apart from dead bodies and the small sacks. Any ideas?

OOO has Harvest Containers included. If you don't have those meshes installed, you'll get funky things happening every time you open a container.

If 1.34 has an exe, run it into a separate folder and copy the files over. If it doesn't, just open the zipfile and go down the list, comparing the files there with the ones you have to see if you're missing any.

It's not even when I open them. It's constant. Does Harvest Containers change the default meshes?

Installing FCOM is tricky and considered an experienced mod-user endeavor.

What you want to do is visit the official FCOM thread, linked in Shikishima's post (or signature) above. Read carefully through the first two posts, especially post 2. Then, bring any subsequent questions up in that thread, where you will get good help.

Did you install the OOO 1.33 complete 7-zip archive and then install OOO 1.34b5 on top of it?

Use http://www.tesnexus.com/downloads/file.php?id=16704 to identify which mess is missing. Should give you a head start on where to look.

Question what operating system and where did you install oblvion to ?

if vista or windows 7 , reinstall oblivion to location outside of program files directory..aka c;\bethesda games\oblivion\ for example

else missing containers would be OOO once again. And if using vista and windows 7 the exe installer may not work correctly, so you should get the 1.33.7z with omod conversion data and use that. and then make a omod for OOO 1.34beta5..

Again, already installed outside of program files (Windows 7). I even installed to a different location, and pasted the files into oblivion directory.
I used FormID Finder and found that the containers are to do with harvest containers. I unpacked the BSA and pasted the files into the data folder to see if that works for me.

Edit: Well, that seems to have fixed my container issues, now there are a few weapon meshes playing up, so I'm gonna try the same thing for those.

And OOO already contains harvest containers itself.

But installing harvest containers standalone over the OOO version's should work has well, if that is only thing missing from your OOO install.

but once again it sounds like OOO did not get installed correctly once again.

Should all the OOO files be in a sub folder called 'OOO' or should they be merged with the normal folders?

What do you mean? All mods data files are installed in the standard folders. The only files that you do not find in standard folders are docs and INI files.

Edit: To emphasize what Corepc pointed out, I think you should reinstall.

There should be no individual OOO folders within your data files folder.
If that's the case merge the OOO resources overwriting when prompted.
Using FCOM you will have to pay special attention to the installation order and instructions laid out in the opening post of the http://www.gamesas.com/index.php?/topic/1085113-relz-fcom-convergence-and-ufcom-relz/ to avoid issues if MMM is already installed.
