Load order for mods with wrye mash

Post » Sat May 28, 2011 2:11 pm

Hello I am trying to get back into morrowind again but with lots of mods. Does anyone know a proper load order for the game? I know master files go first, but what makes a mod be over another type of mod?

http://www.gamesas.com/index.php?/topic/1167004-relz-mlox-a-tool-for-anolyzing-and-sorting-your-load-order/ will answer all that and do it automatically. It does what BOSS does for Oblivion.

A better question is install order.

Having modded Oblivion (ad nausea) and fallout (quite a bit) I get a lot of what should be installed and in what order. But perhaps there are different considerations for Morrowind (since I'm practically a noob at modding it)?

In my BAIN thread http://www.gamesas.com/index.php?/topic/1084204-bain-mod-installation-projects/page__view__findpost__p__15797997for installing mods:
Earliest mods
NPC face mods
UOP & Vanilla fixes
BSA tricks
Overhauls I - Initial Fran's files for FCOM
Loading Screen Alternatives
Weather mods and overhauls
Sound mods
Lighting
General Base Mods
Map marker Tweaks
Hotkeys
DLC group
Body replacers
Items (armor and weapons)
Body Replacer Armour & Clothing
Horse Mods
Overhauls - Main FCOM, WAC, TIE files.
Tamriel Travellers
Overhaul compatibility
Post Overhaul
Quests and Locations
Unique Landscapes
City overhauls
Overrides
Alternative starts
Vampires
Magic
Alchemy
Enchantment
Thievery, Sneaking and Crime
Guards and Bounty
Combat
Skills, Attributes and Leveling
Pose and Animation Mods
Semi-final overrides
Beauty Packs
Race Changes\Addons
Companions
Respawn & day length overrides
Shader mods

Obviously several of those types of mods are not applicable to Morrowind, but I'm wondering if anyone has comments on install order.

Like should texture replacers be installed prior to the patch project?

The issue with install order having more to do with replacer priority,

If you're using Wrye Mash, many if not most of the texture replacers can be loaded without an esp. Check the help files in Wrye Mash for explicit instructions and what order you need to use to get the effect you are looking for.
