Anything I can do to fix this? It seems as if my most recent save game was some how corrupt, not sure. My save before that is from 2 hours ago and I'd rather not have to do all that over again if I can help it. I saved my game in windhelm and wasn't doing anything out of the ordinary. After saving, I exited to desk top. Now whenever I try loading that game, it stays at the loading screen and then instantly crashes to desktop... is there anything I can do here?

Have you tried loading a different savegame first and then load the savegame from the ingame menu?

I have tried that yes, same result... also tried safety load and it isn't generating a log when the game crashes.

Did you modify the ugridstoload value in Skyrim.ini?

Soulmancer, maybe a superfluous question: but are you 200% sure you did not change anything to your modlist and loadorder from when you made that last save and "now" when loading this save crashes your game?

Is the final save a whole lot bigger (say by several MB's) than the one that is 2 hours older? If yes, there may be "bloating" and you are just [censored]*d. Usually happens because of some script(s) going crazy. This cannot be repaired. I had that once. Reloading did not crash but game was getting unplayable.

If you did not change anything at all, and there is no bloating, then I have quite frankly no idea why the save is now suddenly broken. Saves can break, or so I read. Has not happened to me yet, but that is probably more luck than anything else.
