Loading Screen Humor

Post » Mon Apr 25, 2011 1:28 am

Well I was playing oblivion the other day and I noticed the loading screens were kind of boring. I would love it if they but some sort of humor in like

Some believe that there are only 6,999 steps to the top of the throat of the world. Not mine by the way.

Tell me any ideas you might have for loading screen humor!

In Windhelm, you'd better pee inside.

pfff. I wouldn't mind some humor, but I kinda prefer interesting facts about the world, because it fits the tone of the world better. If you murder someone in their house, and then when you leave there's a witty joke on the loading screen, it doesn't really fit.

I prefer them to be informative personally. I like the occasional bits of lore or a gameplay tip here or there. When you can't remember what mage guild has what kind of spells or something like that and can find out by walking into one (because Alt-Tab is broken on Oblivion :P) it is rather convenient. The only thing is there isn't enough variety.

Over the centuries, many adventurers claim to have been offered cake by dwemer centurions. ;)

I would rather they be more informative that silly. That just doesn't really fit the game, which is more serious.
