Yes. It will be just like Oblivion and the Fallouts. The interiors are separate cells from the exteriors, and cities are too.

We can only assume that it will be no different than before. Though it has been confirmed that there will be loading screens at the entrances of towns.

How much of an upgrade, exactly, is next gen anyway compared to what consoles are now? Can next gen 'really' have EVERYTHING open with mega graphics and content and dialogue options. That still seems massive to me even for 'next gen'.

Would you be able to have everything in a final TES game (Morrowind, Oblivion, Skyrim, Daggerfall etc.) everything open, tons of dialogue a thousand dungeons etc etc? I kinda doubt that's possible.

Well.. consider what was displayed with Legend of zelda, links awakening... and what was displayed in oblivion... an increase in what can be rendered seems a legitimate extrapolation.

I'm hoping the standard of Next Gen graphics will be comparable to Crysis 1 on Very High. I'm also assuming that games will be able to be totally open, or at least close, due to the increased hardware and disc space, but who knows? Not me.

On PC there are games that already have impressive graphics with everything open , i believe next gen consoles should be able to do it :)

yeh but pcs are the best of the best right now, and consoles will get a lot better but they will still never be at PC level, and it would take a lot of ram for there to be no loading screens, I wonder how the witcher 2 does it

Well they say that the game preloads everything that is near lol i really have no idea :P, you can even shoot arrows trough windows o.O and the system requirements are:

Recommended specs:
Processor: Intel Quad Core or AMD equivalent
Graphics Card: Nvidia GeForce 260, 1 GB memory / Radeon HD 4850 with 1 GB memory
Memory: 3 GB for Windows XP / 4 GB for Windows Vista and Windows 7
Hard Disk: At least 16 GB of free space

Minimum specs:
Processor: Intel Core 2 Duo 2.2 GHz or AMD 2.5 GHz equivalent
Graphics Card: Nvidia GeForce 8800, 512 MB memory or ATI HD3850 512 MB
Memory: 1 GB for Windows XP / 2 GB for Windows Vista and Windows 7
Hard Disk: 8 GB for the game installation and 8 GB for bonus materials

Those system requirements are for PC i guess a dedicated console would need a lot less , still doesn't seem too much for the graphics i believe next gen consoles will have 1Gb of ram? i hope lol

Still for me loading times are no game breaking , unless they are 1+ minute loading times , and i have high hopes for next gen consoles i believe the next TES will have no loading times :)

if they preload everything then the draw distance cant be entirely as far as if they went through a loading screen, I thought the current gen has 1gb of ram already, I think it takes about 3/4 for the Ram to take the place of the hard drive

darnet I need a new graphics card for that

all i remember reading was that to enter 'major cities' (im guessing like bravil, bruma, etc.) there will be a loading screen. but it seems to me that if there are loading screens for that, then its likely to be for every dungeon as well. i wont mind reading the flavor texts

just as long as its not buggy! :toughninja:

Yes i believe that RAM on both PS3 and 360 is way too few i dunno about tech stuff but 512Mb seems like Bethesda has to work some miracles to get Skyrim running , great developers ! i am indeed more exited for Skyrim that The Witcher TES is full of magic feelings :tes:

It will be. Some PC games are already quite large and almost entirely open. PC hardware is already ridiculously better than consoles, by the time the next gen consoles come out (probably late 2012 or 2013) the hardware will be even better. I think it will most certainly be possible on the next gen of consoles.

Invest in an SSD and the load times magically disappear.

Yes until next gen.

The problem here, is that the next TES game would require even MORE detailed environments, AI, and objects than the one before it.

Theoretically we could have Morrowind with no loading time at all now, because it is old technology. But if we are expecting the technological advancement in content and graphic in each new game, then unfortunately loading time would stay. When given the choice between cutting out loading time vs having a richer game world with the same loading time, game companies choose the latter every time.

People are used to loading times now. They are also used to have bigger and shiner game worlds. That's why things will stay where they are.
