Localized Areas of Body Damage

I wish it was in, but it requires some stuff that most are against, namely VATS and critical hits/dismemberment from FO3/FONV, or it becomes just a player skill shutting out many players. So for now, I'm gonna vote no, since there is a lot more to the equation than just putting in locational damage.

It would be foolish to hesitate and disengage close combat to "try to aim for the head" in a real time combat simulation. Strike where you see an opening.

I agree with you to a point.

I'm basing my opinion on previous implementations of the system. It doesn't mean that they couldn't make it better.

They have locational damage in Dead Island and it works ok, but I am almost always aiming for the head. On the bigger "Thug" zombies, I chop of their arms and then aim for the head.

No, no, it doesn't, locational damage appears in a lot of games that don't necessarily include these features.

they were afraid that you would give up frustrated trying to kill a giant with melee weapons because all you'd hit is their legs :whistling:

Correct. In Morrowind and Oblivion it would not be too hard to just keep the crosshair on the head. This is where they would have to greatly improve on the combat system to make it work.

as long as the combat is fun and engaging, I don't care.

Um..you've played an ES game before? Close combat in Elder Scrolls games reminds me of having noodle fights in my grandma's swimming pool.

I'm alright with the quality of magic and it looks like bows got the tweaks they needed, but swordplay in this series has always been very bland/repeditive/boring.

When dealing with multiple enemies, localized damage is pretty much a 'must.'
