I am in-game with my PC at a certain location. I want to know where I am in the game world and work at that location in the Construction Set. How do I obtain a reference in-game that can be used in the CS to open the cell exterior view? I am near a cave but can only find the cave interior in the CS.

Toggle Debug Text is probably your best bet:

Since you have found the cave interior in the CS, double click on the yellow door marker by the door to the exterior and the CS will load the exterior cell for you.
