So mine just patched I am going to give it a shot and perhaps see what happens.

I have the same problem. Using a 19" monitor also. If I don't check on the borderless then the game plays only on two thirds of my screen. I also don't want to use any cheat codes. Please fix.

Common formats are currently 4:3, 16:9 and 16:10 with 16:9 being the most common for desktop computer displays. Physical size of your display is irrelevant, the resolution is likely important though.

Download the easy lockpicking mod from the nexus. This will enable you to be able to lockpick successfully without being able to see (and still keep the xp gain from it) it. You can use the console to unlock it but it's better to use the mod so you can get the xp gains.

The unfortunate truth is that bethesda decided to only support wide-screen formats so you need to play in one.

I used that one too until I found out that some awesome dude has released the mod which gives support for 1280X1084 resolution, fixing not only lockpicking issue, but also borked power armor UI.
