No lockpicking graphics : Fallout: New Vegas

So far, good game. Fun and mostly glitch free.

A few things. The sound seems very low. I have it mostly maxed out. However, it does seem low - especially the conversation. Not too big of a deal. It is hearable, but I miss a word every so often.

My main issue, though, is the lack of lockpicking graphics. I have played fallout 3, so I know the basics of lockpicking. Find a bobbypin then move it around until the screw driver can open it (more or less). However, in fallout new vegas. I dont see that graphics. I see the option to force it or leave it. I see the difficulty and the screen looks like it should be there - but it is not! When I alt tab (to go from the game to my desk top) and come back for a split second I see the graphics. However, they disappear. I can hear the sounds but not the graphics. So far I have lockpicked the one item I could and moved on.

Mine too. But it was replaced with a hacking terminal screen but with no graphics. The lockpick could be seen behind it

I get the lock pick graphics fine, but no computer terminals, meaning I cant hack...

But I found it was because I was using the 360 pad. If I switch to mouse/keyboard, the UI pops up perfectly fine, but using the 360 pad... Nothing.

I am having trouble with the lockpicking graphic also on the PC. I have experienced it for the first time at Nipton in the city hall. I can hear the bobby pin rotating and if i press the esc button and hit continue the graphic shows up quickly and then disappears

First time i ran into this problem was yesterday. It seems as if the patch caused this, for me anyway. Im afraid we will have to wait this one out untill its fixed by the devs. although things that were claimed to be fixed in the last patch notes are still there, like the cowboy rep. reloading issue. Its going to take some time to sort all these bugs out and get fixed, the real question is how many people are going to stick around waiting.

found the fix for this issue (at least for me). have bobby pins in your inventory. that's it. now ask me how stupid i feel. i'm using the sortable backpack from the nexus (great mod btw), but i didn't realize that it stored my bobby pins when i stashed my misc. items. i also ass-u-me-d that a notice would show saying i couldn't pick the lock because i had bobby pins.

so here i am sacrifising my dignity so other don't spend forever trying to figure out what's wrong with their game.

make sure you have bobby pins in your inventory or no animation (you know the one with the bobby pin) will show up.
