LOD Texture bug poll

Post » Sat Feb 19, 2011 2:37 am

Simple poll so we can determine a little something for shadeMe. Do you experience the bug where attempting to generate an LOD texture with the CS causes half of the generated texture to be black?

I'm setting this up so hopefully we can determine if this is something worth shadeMe's time to address, as I understand some people do not experience it.

EDIT: If anyone could be bothered, could they post their system specs along with their vote, in case this may be a hardware related problem?

I don't have the bug with my current system:

Processor: Intel Core2Duo e8400
Memory: 4GB OCZ Platinum
Motherboard: MSI P45 Neo-F (MS7519-010)
Graphics card: XFX Radeon HD 4890 1GB
Sound card: Realtek Onboard
OS: Windows XP

But I had the bug with my old system:

Processor: AMD x2 4400
Memory: 2GB noname
Motherboard: Don't remember
Graphics Card: XFX Nvidia 8800 GTS OC 640MB
Sound card: Realtek Onboard
OS: Windows XP

I always thought it was a problem with Nvidia cards, but seems like it is not. IIRC I had this problem with my 9800 GT and my 7900 GT as well.

EDIT: Maybe a driver issue? I have Catalyst 9.6 installed, which is pretty old.

Yes here as well. System specs as best as I can determine without digging out boxes and opening up cases:

Motherboard: ASUS P5LD2
OS: Microsoft Windows XP Pro SP3
Memory: 4 GB DDR2 @ 400MHz
Processor: Intel Pentium D 920 2.80 GHz OC'd to 3.31 GHz
Graphics: nVidia GeForce GTS250
>1024MB GDDR3 VRAM
Audio: RealTek something

I might mention that the Python script on the wiki is a decent workaround for creating those LOD textures though.
