What is it with people standing slap-bang in the middle of doorways and blocking the path?! I've found mages to be particularly naughty when it comes to this sort of thing.

Yes, this is a common problem in other games as well, like VtM:Bloodlines. It can be quite frustrating but if you just walk away and do something else, they are probably gone when you come back. If they aren′t, try a Demoralize spell on them :hehe:
Thankfully they addressed this problem in Oblivion.

I don′t know if it exists a mod for this.

If you have a PC, the "Move" mod solves it quite nicely. Eavery NPC has a "move" topic, which will make them step aside if they aren't already offended by you.

If you're on PC, the console command ResetActors also takes care of that problem. It takes all the NPCs back to their original positions, and those aren't in doorways or other places that might interfere with your moving. Also, no disposition troubles like with the mod Kovacius suggested!

Only that if you've taken an NPC to some place, I guess it will still teleport back to its original position. :( The command is not without its drawbacks, either.

I find I can usually jump past/through them. Why it works, I have no idea, but it generally does.

Yes I could most of the time too. But not for one or two particularly obtuse rascals.

If this was in Daggerfall, those people could be arrested if they did that for more than 3 hours!

I love the reset actors command. Even NPC's who are supposed to be largely immobile, Ranis Athrys comes to mind, seem to eventually start drifting.

I remember this game I played ages ago, Tomb of the Taskmaker (Taskmaster?). If you tried walking through a passageway where a townsperson was standing, your character would say "excuse me " a few times, then shout "GET OUT OF THE WAY!" if they still didnt move.

Most of the times I just use TCL and move right through them. Harmless as a bunny

I once had a very impatient Telvanni mage, and she would Command Humanoid and put them back in their place. If someone was a serial offender… she would command them into a closet or other small room, close the door, and use a Lock spell from the outside. That’ll teach em!

This is what's so cool in TES games. So many ways to do anything, like even make NPCs get out of the way!

This I liked quite a bit. After reading the first few words, though, I thought she was so impatient that she outright killed those. *puts on Nelacayne mode* I remember having a fellow Telvanni a few hundred years back who did just like that. She killed every person who stuck her doorways, she was so strict with that. Then I killed her.
