lone wanderer vs. courier : Fallout Series Discussion

Then it's a fault of the game narrating. The Courier isn't exactly spoonfed after he gets shot into the head. You walk away from the road, you get [censored] by Radscorpions.

And even that is a gameplay factor in my opinion, I am just debating the most logical "better protagonist".

In that case, Lone Wanderer sounds like an over glorified hobo. Maybe in the next game we can play the Home Owner, or the Mortgage Payer.

ok, I see what your saying. Ya, thats true about the gameplay being better in NV.But, i'm still going for the under-dog,Lone Wonderer, all the way!!! :intergalactic:

To me it seems like the lone wanderer has almost a kind of destiny in the capitol wasteland to fulfill, since the war happened nobody has really stepped up in dc to really be a catalyst for change the way he did and the way the chosen one and vault dweller did on the west coast. And how the arguement that he came from a vault doesn't really work out that well because so did the vault dweller and he did pretty well for himsellf in the wasteland. So in my book lone wanderer beats the courier anyday but lets be real, you dont want to mess with either one of them.

The Lone Wanderer was the savior of the Capital Wasteland.

The Courier was the man who decided the fate of New Vegas.

The Vault Dweller was the man who saved humanity from an army of supermutants.

The Chosen one was the destroyer of the Oil Rig Enclave.

They all have their positives and achievements. I like the Lone Wanderer the best because I only played him and the Courier and I felt more attached to the Lone Wanderer.

Most seems to assume that it would be a gun-battle.
As I play Lone Wamderer and The Courier would face off in a debate-style TV-show, both trying to outwit each other.
Topic: Postdemocracy ethics and Transhumanism.
The Chosen One would sneak in as a functionary, mess with the scoreboard but get caugth sneaking out.
In the end it would have to be settled by the shows judge who off course is the Vaultdveller in disguese.

Well, just because it isn't mentioned in the title means we can't discuss it? The Vault Dweller and the Chosen one seem MUCH more on-topic than... let's say, bickering about the Enclave.

because alot of people played the lone wanderer in a less badass way they played the courier, just because of gameplay this makes the lone wanderer seem a little less, brave and badass. I played them this way, I said earlier how my courier would win, he's just alot better than my lone wanderer, and as we have almost no canon idea of who either of them were, we can only go by how we played the character.

Ok ok Between those two... sadly the Courier has most wits. Or at least he/she can affect the end game most, taking sides and bringing in allies.
I would love to rank Lone Wanderer higher, but unless there is some major skull duggery in Broken Steel, then there is not much he can sneak or outwit in the end. Damn I never got around finishing all the later dlc.

We don't even know who the Courier was before he got shot in the dome. We know he was a courier, sure, but how do we know he didn't recieve some kind of combat training at some point? Point being, we do know know the Lone Wanderer is some 19 year old dude who lived a very sheltered life before going out into the wastes. So yeah, this topic is pretty much invalid until we learn more about the Courier's past.

It would be a draw they are both nearly as indestrutable as Fawkes
Lone Wanderer died more but their were actually people on the map attempting to take his life at almost every turn. Both carry more weapons and ammo than a platoon of marines. They would either kill each other or just give up.

The Courier has more wasteland experience and actually did the dirty work of the factions. All the Lone Wanderer did was find his Daddy, and get the GECK. Liberty Prime did most of the work.
