Lone wanderer perk question...

Post » Wed Dec 02, 2015 8:41 am

I am thinking that even though Dogmeat can not carry anything for you. The lone wanderer perk will not apply with him as a companion. I hope I am wrong. but that's a lot of cha points to waste at the start of the game if it doesn't.

Has anyone been able to find anything about the combo?

No official word, but Dogmeat is refered as a companion by Beth and most likely counting as one for the sake of this perk.

Thats the burning question, luckally for you settlements are at charisma 6(?) so to do any settlement building you will need more than lone wanderer would take.

I also want the lone wanderer perk but I want to build dog meat a kennel. I'm assuming all the time I have dog meat that my lone wanderer perk will remain static until I deselect him as a companion. If that's the case I may leave him at the garage until I have a settlement.

I don't think they will stack. Dogmeat is a companion so it would seem to contradict the lone wander description. Plus they already have the attack dog perk just for Dogmeat and to have both going at the same time could be OP imo. Could you give items to the Rex (dog in F:NV)? Can't remember.

Not exactly true. That was just to recruit better followers to your settlement like high end merchants. Intelligence will have a big role it seams; to setup some of the defenses and terminal options you need intelligence perks like science iirc.

It is a good question as a guy running around with just animals and robots as companions isn't really alone.. but he couldn't really be considered the most social of fellows either. I don't know... It seems likely that it wouldn't work with dogmeat. He might not have any way to carry items but he's still a bonus for causing damage. (and who knows, maybe you can make a little saddlebag for him so that he can carry weight.)

I agree with th e general consenses but "technically" the lone wanderer from F3 had dogmeat in the art and shots of him with him so who knows.

Was it just a single level perk? If not there could be other bonuses with higher ones that could allow Dogmeat.
