Lonesome Road Screenshot + Lonesome Road Gun Runners?

Post » Sun Jul 17, 2011 6:37 am

MCA, known for slipping bits of future DLC in his Twitter account, just changed his avatar. It appears to be a sign for a gas station(maybe) in a ruined(even for Fallout) landscape. Also, one can see, faintly, on the right of the screen, yellow arrows from the HUD, so this is a screenshot, not concept art. Could this be our first look at the Divide?

Also, Josh Sawyer has http://twitter.com/#!/jesawyer to Gun Runners HQ, LA Boneyard. This coupled with hishttp://www.formspring.me/JESawyer/q/214574275850436419 a few days ago that "The Greatest Designs of the Gun Runners are yet to be seen." can only mean that we will see a lot of them in the upcoming DLC. It's probably Lonesome Road, not OWB, because these hints generally happen 1 DLC in advance.

Thoughts?

UPDATE: MCA, at first, uploaded a bigger version of this. In that version, the bottom part of the sign could be seen to read: "Las Vegas", with an oversized "V". I cannot find the larger version. Can anybody?

UPDATE: NMA has found out about this as well, (possibly thanks to yours truly) and has posted a larger version of the image. In this, one can see a ruined urban landscape. To me, this means that Death Valley is probably not the Divide.

People thought the Divide was Death Valley, but now I think maybe the http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Graqevine,_California

"As the Graqevine is the major route between Northern and Southern California..."

JE Sawyer is a gun nut, so being at the Gun Runner HQ isn't surprising, the Boneyard isn't in the Divide, by the way, its the location of the Gun Runner HQ in Fallout 1 & 2.

I've always been skeptical of the Divide being Death Valley myself, because Graham describes it as a major trading hub for NCR that was rendered an inhospitable wasteland in a mysterious event. Death Valley is already an inhospitable wasteland. I personally believe it is near Sandy Valley, considering that it fits the geographic description, and its location near the Caravan Wreakage.

I know that, I played the first Fallouts, but Sawyer and MCA always slip hints into their Twitter accounts. What I meant was that the location change was meant to show that the Gun Runners will be significant in some way.

The gas station sign reads "Solitare". I'll never be able to get a Petro-Chico Jumpsuit, will I? :cryvaultboy:

Nice find, I don't have a Twitter account so I probably wouldn't have spotted this.

It would be really cool to see the Las Vegas sign. Being on the Graqevine is definitely a a good way to end it off

Good find I'm going to go out on a limb and say that a major part of LR will deal with just getting to the divide which would allow for a lot more to be done since based off Graham's description I doubt you'd find any one there withou a good reason let alone traders or non combatants. The location is anyone's guess at this point if I remember correctly Van Buren put it in deaty valley but that seems a rather rough route for the NCR supply lines to use and almost everything Van Buren related has been drastically altered. Looking forward to seeing more of the gun runners since theres a lot that we don't know that could make an interesting story.

Very nice find! Now it begs to question: what role will the gun runners play? If any. I myself am wondering if we come across a ruined GR base.

Hmm. It'd be interesting to return to the Boneyard, but I'm not convinced. Mr. Sawyer is well-known as a gun enthusiast, so it's hard to know whether it's a clue or not.

However, I have an idea. I'll seduce an intern at Obsidian, and convince her to break her non-disclosure agreement. I knew I took the Lady Killer perk for a reason! >:D

Doubt we'll see the Boneyard. The Boneyard is a well known place, many NPC's in FNV mention it, and don't say how death-y it is, so it isn't the Divide. Still, I think that location is a clue that the GR will be appearing.

Exactly what i thought.Just because of this tiny picture i can tell that this road will have a The pitt-like setting, and that is awesome.

It might be possible that Gun Runners trying to set up shop across the divide died due to weather/threats/etc and left their schematics on the Lonesome Road for us to pick up and build later.

Anyone notice the Atomic Reactor smoke stacks in the background. I'm hoping this is a return to the more irradiated days.

Nice. The Gun Runners never really had any quests or anything. The really only reason to go in there HQ was for schematics. Hope they have a larger role .
