Lonesome Road won't be released this month. Thread #3

Post » Sat Aug 13, 2011 8:00 pm

Probably shooting myself in the foot continuing this discussion, but hey, maybe it'll keep the majority of these threads from popping up. (yeah right!)

Anyway, continue discussion on the recent LR delay.

Circumstances beyond their control they said. Which I think means one of the DLC providers[PSN, XBOX LIVE or STEAM] was having problems in its approval process.

I don't see the point to this thread. They already stated this info themselves. Why talk about it? It'll come out eventually.

Circumstances beyond control could mean either Steam or accounting... federal taxes delayed, perhaps?

Anyway, as long as we don't have to wait 'till christmas I'm all game. :intergalactic:

I know nothing about how they run their releases and speculating is useless. But I would like to make a few comments for folks who do not work in software development. For example: I work with banking software and everyone is taking their vacation this month (mostly because of kids) so our QA manager and our vendor's pm and Lead QA all took the same week off. (it was planned months ago). If there are high level defects it is always a good idea to wait, same goes if you are doing a rollout and key players on the team are on vacation. This kind of thing happens all the time. The only time it is worse to release software is in December for basically the same reason. Vacation is good for the mind etc.... But if they can deliver something more solid than OWB by taking more time, I support this completely. They already did me the favor of increasing the level cap to 50 so I can finish a few unfinished quests in the mean time.

No, otherwise the DLC would release on time on other systems. Trying to start a flame war is usually not a wise choice...

Seems like a lot of people are missing avatars. :sadvaultboy:

EDIT - Seems the Edit Avatar function is missing all together.

OT - My moneys on Steam for the delay, as they're the one's that prematurely released the achievements. :spotted owl:

Not true, if they intend to release on time for all systems they could decide to hold back until it can be done on all three fronts.

All I'm saying is that Honest Hearts wasn't delayed when the PSN was down...

I prefer DLCs to be spaced out. If LR is truly the last DLC, why rush it out? You're just asking to have NV retired early. Dead Money came out in December and Honest Hearts came out in May. I liked that. I have barely played through OWB and they want LR out.

I don't think anybody is at fault for this, LR will come out eventually and I can't wait for it.

I don't trust Bethesda's word on anything anymore, for now I think it will be released in September but don't be surprised if it's released in October because someone [censored]s up again

Well I was mad at first but now I'm having loads of fun with New Vegas now that I learned how to use mods in the Steam version.

Also I'm shocked to find out that the forums got hacked. hope nothing important got taken,
