is long island the new point lookout?

Post » Sat Nov 28, 2015 12:48 pm

If you live in Boston, you should know about long island. If you lived in Boston for a while, you should know about the strange mysteries surrounding the island. For example, there are strange washed up creatures, a bridge where lots of suicides happen and countless haunted houses. But most importantly, it was a hot spot for alien abductions in the 60's, which is ironic because fallout feels like the 60's, and encounters. now to the theory.

In fallout 3 there is a man with a functional steamboat (if you have point lookout) that takes you to point lookout. That man once traveled all the way up to Boston and back, in fallout 4, he may come back to Boston. He should be able to take you to long island like he did with point lookout. In long island, you can see things like crashed alien ships, haunted houses and foggy shores.

Do you think this will be an awesome dlc? please tell me in your replies below.

I don't know if it would be the same guy as you have an opportunity to kill said steamboat captain.

I wouldn't mind them doing long island as a dlc.

I guess it would be Nadine running the Duchess Gambit not Tobar.

You don't have a choice, because at the end of the Point Lookout DLC, he attacks you and really have to kill him.

There was a old Nike battery out on that island and prior it rats a costal fort. I think currently it's used for police training and as a detox center?

But given what it was in the 1950 IOTL I suspect it's already part of the base game,

If they do incorporate Long Island into the game or as a DLC, I hope feature some sort of haunted building, similar to the Dunwich building from Fallout 3.

They'd better not do the Amityville House thing. Bad form if they do.

Salem would be mire interesting :) And Long Island could easily part of the vanilla map...

Isn't Long Island a bit too far away from Boston to be part of the vanilla map?

Well, the map tends to be more compressed than it is in real life.

Like DC in Fallout 3.

Long Island is mostly southeast of New York and due south of Connecticut, so it would have to be a DLC, I imagine.

Edit: spelling

Wouldn't all of that area have been a major target and thus have been completely destroyred?

I believe the thread is about https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Long_Island_%28Massachusetts%29 Long Island, not https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Long_Island one.

Oooops, my ignorance is showing! I was born and lived for 23 years in New Bedford, MA.

I even worked in Boston for about 3 months and I never knew there was a Long Island in Boston Harbor.

(Hangs head in shame.)

I'd love to see a haunted Island scenario, like only certain energy weapons would work against "ghosts" or whatever creature is there. In halflife 2 I loved Ravenholm because it was an eerie break from the usual action.

If it's in the harbor, it's in the game.. sorry;I meant hahbah.

I'm hoping the map extends as far south as Cape Cod.

Suicide spots aren't really mysterious, they're usually started by myths and stories, take the suicide forest in Japan that became a common site for suicides because of a popular romance novel.

Alien abductions are always lies made by people to get some media attention. Also 1950s, not 1960s.

It sounds interesting for just some small hints but a dlc going out of it's way to say "LOOK PARANORMAL STUFF, LOOK AT THE GIMMICKS" is not a good idea. Especially right now since media is filled to the brim with bad paranormal horror and stuff around the paranormal.

I think Long Island has some potential: Military bases, a Hospital, a School, an Asylum, the Lighthouse, and a long, rickety old bridge to get to it.

wrong Long Island. There's a Long Island in mass. It was part of the Boston defense system an the Boston Nike battery network in and after WW 2

I do hope they have some good content on the islands and off the coast and waters to explore and loot. I don't know why I liked exploring the cost and water ways the most in FO3.
