So long old V.A.T.S...how about this.

Post » Thu Nov 26, 2015 9:18 pm

I loved V.A.T.S in both FO3 and New Vegas, but I hope they change it up bit. I'm sure we all could agree that it made the game even easier than it was. So with that said, make V.A.T.S have a much longer cooldown. Why not have it work similar to Destiny's Super or DAI's focus ablity. What do you guys think?

It is fine the way it is in my opinion. It is based off our agility and perks.

Leave VATS alone please ;) no one forces people to use it. VATS is one of the reasons I fell in love with Fallout 3. It would be a shame to have it not in a new fallout title.

I wonder if VATS is going to have any changes to it. Although if it was just like how it was in New Vegas i'd be pretty happy, it never made sense to me in Fallout 3 why using VATS made my rifle degrade at so many times the normal rate.

It's broke. Lets be able to exit VATS whenever we want. Lets take the majority of damage in VATS but not let our health go below 15% or so, so that we don't unexpectedly die. Perhaps maybe let us slow it or speed it up, change angles. Let us select specific parts when using melee and unarmed. Bring back eye and groin shots. If the enemy goes behind cover stop the player from shooting.

I'm in the "I'm fine with it as it is" club. It does it's job.

I agree with being able to more specifically target enemies in VATS, even when using melee weapons or unarmed, but exiting VATS mid cutscene and adding a 15% safety net sounds like a crutch. Strategically, you shouldn't eat up all your AP points in VATS if your enemy has a high likelihood of taking cover.

These complaints do not sound like VATS is severely broken in need of fixing or being replaced. These are tweaks that can be added to improve the already existing system.

The only problem I've had with vats... is aiming at a body part, entering combat... and then not firing a shot... at all... Then I either have to wait for my AP points to run out, or I get killed.

The only problem I've had with VATS is trying to navigate to the head of a non-humanoid creature (especially ants) using a controller.

I guess that is my issue,it does it to well! I'm just hoping the game is more challenging over all.

Challenge is relative. I don't mind being OP under the right circumstances. Makes me cackle with delight.

I really don't see Bethesda removing features of the game that were present even in Fallout 1.

Still hoping they reform it into something more clever, involving and new. And definitely not go for a slowmo, since that's the most overused gimmick there is.

While i may not agree it is broke, this i whole heartily agree with, i would love to kneecap a raider with a hammer, or disarm him by shattering his elbow (do enemies drop held weapons when their arms get crippled? i totally forget, if not they should) and who doesnt wanan bring back sniping dudes in the eyes for massive damage?

This goes counter to a most of my opinions...

But I'd rather they just replace it with Bullet Time. It's barely reminiscent of the originals since we don't get the same kind of violence. I played with the Project Nevada mod and only used VATS after that point to cheese when I had to.

If you're a PC gamer man, Fallout New Vegas with Project Nevada is a different experience. Throw in Nevada Skies, World of Pain and the stuff necessary to make them play nicely together.

Look up "Gopher" on YouTube if you are a PC gamer. He does tutorials on modding.

up up down down left right left right

I hear this. I use VATS almost exclusively, and it svcks dikeing around with it for 45 seconds, because your AP goes farther with a headshot, and WHY WONT IT TARGET THE HEAD!!!! *throws controller through the TV*
This must be fixed

I am going to get a lot of hate for this, but who cares about VATS? I do not usually use it at all (unless chucking grenades). I find it make combat too easy, and dumbed down.
