Long Title Screen Load

Post » Sat Jun 04, 2016 2:03 am

So, I have had the same untouched setup since summer 2015. The game ran perfectly despite the heavy mod load. Crashes were rare (especially after the memory block fix). Though, very occasionally they still happen.. anyways, my issue is that since I have started playing again recently, the title screen loads take upwards of ~3 minutes before the menu comes up. It just shows the skyrim logo and the smoke in the background for quite awhile.

Any idea what causes this?

No, actually, I deleted them all before I started playing again recently. I deleted them via Wyre Bash though, I don't know if that makes a difference. Could the game be loading some undeleted cache of something somewhere related to saves?

Its a combination of the amount of mods you have and the time it takes to load off the disc. An SSD will speed things up in my experience but don't expect miracles. An HDD is noticeably slower and loose files load slower than BSA's due to the seek time of the drive looking for all the individual files vs the fact its only parsing a single file (BSA)

The only way to have a speedy, almost instant response , as in too fast to even read the load screen message, is to have no mods at all afaik. You should defrag the hard drive if you havn't already as reinstalling the game will have likely fragmented the files.

I didn't reinstall the game, the setup is exactly as it was before. :/

I mean, it's not game breaking or even that annoying. Load times between cells are instant anyways. Sometimes the loading screen just flashes thats how quick it is.

Well you can try to disable all your mods. You can uncheck all the esp files as well as rename the Textures, meshes, scripts, interfaces, and sounds folders. See if that helps.

Then re-enable them a few at a time. Rename the folders again for instance and see if it is a replacer problem.

Are you running any other large programs in between Skyrim sessions? Your system may be taking time to clear out memory for the game.
