Longest Wasteland Exploration?

Post » Sat Feb 13, 2016 11:37 am

What's the longest exploration trip you've sent your dwellers out on? I'm coming up on four hours for one of my guys and he's running just over half health and maybe 1/5 radiation with 3 each Stimpack and RadAway left. So far he's only come up with a Battle Armor, an Initiate Robe, and a Sawed-Off Shotgun.

Yesterday i had journey 11:54 before he died, i sent him with 12/4 Stimpack/Radway. But i have revived him and he returned with 9 guns/5 outfits. Also my other dweller is already more than 16h away i gave him 20/10 Stimpack/Radway. In few hours i will check how is he and update here.

Yea, please keep us in the loop on your journey. I'm assuming some of the semi-auto rifles, Gatling guns, energy weapons, etc. from the full games are in this one and I'm curious at what range their discovery seems likely. Raiders getting 2-3 rooms into the vault before I knock them all down svcks.

what level are your guys?

i currently have 6 out there. 2 of ghem are mid 30's and they usually make it about 8 hours before i lose my nerve and call them back. scribe rothchild makes it the furthest and brings back the best stuff, and he usually has a couple stims left over too.

i usually only send them out with 3 stims and 2 radaway, i guess i need to give them more supplies.

i have 2 in their mid 20's and they made it to 7:30 with 3 stims

and i have 2 mid 10's they made it 4:30 with 5 stims and they used them all up at that point so i called them back.

soo..if they die in the wasteland, al i have to do is revive them all call them back and they get to keep all the stuff?

p.s. i got 2 enhanced flamethrowers 15-17 from lunchboxes. i have 2 diners on the first floor near the vault door. i also have the door upgraded to level 2. i have one guy and one girl working the diners equipped with the flamethrowers. as soon as raiders appear, i move them into the vault door and the raiders die in the first room before making it any farther...they still always get 200 of each resource...

p.p.s. i also have a theory, i think the luck stat might influence the item drops. scribe rothchild has the highest luck and he always brings back the best stuff and he brings back more than anyone else at the same distance.

Yes, if they die you just revive and send back. And after collect all loot . Thats why i go as much as they can(die). Of course they need to get back, and it takes time. But trust me it's worth :)

Hiya. I know it sort of spoils it but I was getting nowt from the objective lunch boxes so I spent. I lucked out on a 15 lunchbox pack and got 2 Jerichos and enhanced missile launcher and a load of helpful gear and caps. Sent the first level 26 Jericho out with 10 stimpacks(I think) and 10 radaways. And the missile launcher. He's level 33 now after 19 hours, and has more stimpacks(or hasn't used any). Just doesn't die, gets to half health before levelling up and resetting health. The highest item he's managed out of 20 odd pick ups is a laser pistal!?! I think the person who said luck is right for items. Reflects the main game in some respects. Endurance, luck, maybe intelligence too? I'll let you know if he meets his demise with a super mutant or something.

Anyone know now many times you can revive an explorer after dying? Is it unlimited?

The in game 'help' guide doesn't mention any limit, so I'd bet that so long as you've go the caps you can keep up with the resurrections.

As for my longest trip into the Wasteland, 15 hours. They died and I brought them back, but they didn't find anything impressive. No idea how long they have to be out before they start finding power armor and fatboys.

I recieved a fatboy in a lunchbox. They shoot little mini nukes and a flash consumes the area you shot it in.

No friendly fire! Weapons I'm most excited to hunt down are the fatboy and the flamethrower. And keep in mind that the in-app guide says there's 139 weapons in the game (although that number includes the 'quality' variations of the same weapons, ie. 'rusty lever action rifle', 'enhanced lever action rifle'.)

Just recieved a rusty alien blaster. Gave it to my vault door security guard. Usually can take out all 3 raiders by himself.

Well, my level 19 guy bought the farm at 8.75 hours. I revived him and told him to keep searching. I'm a ruthless Overseer. LOL

Nothing extraordinary so far. A couple scoped .44's, a 10mm, lever action rifle, sawed-off shotgun, 2 initiate robes, and battle armor. Picked up a Smuggler's End and Pressurized Flamer from some lunchboxes so we'll see how they do with the door guards next time we get raided.

Once I get someone trained up enough to replace Eulogy Jones in the water plant I'll send him out since he's level 46.

My lvl 40 Confessor Cromwell is out now for 2 days (in an Expert Radiation Suit and Focused Laser riffle - he newer got radiation damage, maybe the suit does it's job) and he used 6 stimpacks so far. He collected like 30~ items but nothing outstanding so far.

I sent my Mr. Burke out for about 18 hours. Came back with a ton of weapons but most were rusty or only did 2-3 damage.

Only 6 hours so far. Level 15, with 2 stimpaks and 2 radaways. She ended up dying to a Mirelurk, but was successfully revived and is returning with 5 outfits and 2 guns.

I have Butch out there for a day and a half. Gave him 8 stim packs and 4 rad aways. I'm going to max him out to 15/15 of both and keep him out for 3-4 days.

I have special character Lucas Simms equipped with the best weapon (can't remember weapon name, laser cannon or something).

So far only sent him out for 8 hours with hardly a scratch and he collected 500ish caps and a few outfits/guns. This time he will be out for atleast 10 hours so I earn a lunchbox objective.

Quick question, if he gets more stuff than I can hold then will I need to build a storeroom to collect?

I had the same thought Pitboy, so I just made the question moot by building another storeroom.

Haha, good idea. I've had power issues arm but next time I have the manpower it's the next thing on my list.

I will just have to leave him exploring till its done I guess just to be sure :).
