Looking to build an assassin/combat mage

Post » Fri May 27, 2011 10:18 am

Name:Charon or Auric
Race: Dunmer
Class name: Unsure, thinking either Enforcer,Nightblade, suggestions welcome

Class thus far:
Major skills:
Short blade
Illusion
Destruction
Security
Marksman

Minor:
Conjuration
Sneak
Light Armor
and either: Spear, Long blade, enchant, mysticism, block, medium armor, speechcraft.

But spear and medium armor doesnt fit the character, and the others i always pick one, then consider another to be a better fit, so i go back and forth.

Any suggestions?

well,it looks like you will use spells, that means you aren′t so dependent on enchant,so that′s out then ?
From an rp-perspective speechcraft, and it usually comes with higher personality, helps people like you, easier to get information,or taunt them if you like, thinking morag tong here, and several quest relies on getting people talking to you revealing information, think that suits that kind of character.
And I would probably getting mysticism,it has its usefullness, and nice to have it at usable level from the beginning.
If you planning to get a lot of fighting block is obvious,if so I would take block instead of mysticism if so.

other than that I call that kind of characters "night stalkers",just an idea.
btw nice build so far :)

Ty, and going over my list of characters, I have a lv 60 warrior, a lv 30 enforcer (Thief/warrior) And I had a lv 40 mage, but got stuck on bloodmoon and had to delete him, so i've decided to make Charon a Sorcerer, but in my assassin/mage character, i'll take that into consideration, and the reason I had enchant was he would be using an enchanted shortblade to deal heavier damage, and i prefer to enchant rings with des magic spells so i can dish em out faster and save manna...

well,in that case you do seem to have use of enchant quite a bit.
suggest speechraft then, since mysticism have soultrap but you can have that on weapon or rings, amulets or scrolls, and spell absorbtion/reflect is rather costly to cast as spells, rendering them useless pretty much as casting spells, while they can be used on enchanted items/getting already enchanted items.

on the other hand, speecraft training all the way up is easy available through the blades and mages guild if you are a member, that means you don′t necessarily need it as major/minor,it sort it out anyway.
that goes for mysticism as well when I think of it,freeform trainer though, enchant is more challenging ;)
so maybe block ?
seems you got most of it,if not all covered already :)
