Looking for an Armour Mod

Post » Sat Nov 20, 2010 10:49 pm

Good Day All,

I know this kind of thread is not very welcomed, but I am desperate... :unsure2:

I have been looking for a mod that adds the good old classic medieval knightly armour of the 15th century to the game, but my efforts have been in vain.

I remember there was a WIP for such a few years ago, but I lost track of it after Bethesda overhauled its message board system.

If anyone of you would be so kind to let me know what happened to it? Or if it has been released, where I may find it?

Thank You All, in advance.

There are only a few mods that add something like this and none of them have armor that is made 100% from scratch.

http://www.tesnexus.com/downloads/file.php?id=25574 has a knight armor (see image section)

My http://www.tesnexus.com/downloads/file.php?id=19228 has some, albeit the armor itself is only an altered vanilla steel armor

http://www.tesnexus.com/downloads/file.php?id=11417 has a few helmets and a man-at-arms coat

I know that someone called Centurion (not the Centurion with all the castle mods) was working on a medieval armor a long time ago, but both he and his mod have vanished. Ghogiel also had a plate armor in the works and it looked like it was finished, don't know what happened to it.

I'm pretty sure someone had all the meshes and textures from it. Didn't Xzibition take it over?

Thanks for the response guys, I really appreciate it (knowing how unpopular these kinds of threads are  ).

Thanks Phitt, I am a great appreciator of your armoury, and I even endorsed it at the Nexus saying how it is the closest thing we have to the real world counterparts. :goodjob:

Ah! It's good to know that there are still people who remember those projects (since most of the older prominent mod authors have seemingly left). :)

It's a real pity that no one knew what happened to them. :shakehead:

I did have an old plate out there. there was going to be a mod with it in there.

I actually have another completely different set in various states of completion. Which is far better than anything else i had made for ob. But i don't really have the time to complete it. not that i do work with Ob anymore in any case. I've nearly dug that one out to finish it several times...

I think I remember that old project of your's, Ghogiel... It's been on hiatus for a couple of years now...

It's good to hear that you have actually made a better set. Yet it is saddening to hear that it may never be completed (knowing that you have put Oblivion behind and moved on). Now I feel like a starving man looking at a picture of a cake. So close, yet so unreachable...

That armour you had in the works was good, and it is a real pity to see it abandoned.

But, you have made many wonderful things for Oblivion already, and you have my gratitude for that. :foodndrink:

i doubt this is any consolation, but If i make anything for TES5, it's going to be an epic suit of plate.

Thank You, I appreciate it. :hugs:

With that, you have turned my desperation into hope - I now have something to look forward to. :)

Now I just hope that there WILL be a TES 5... :(
