OK, not all of my houses are ever going to be companion-friendly, but I'll list them as they are.

First off, I've uploaded a new version of Silorn Manor with Persistent chairs and beds - so any download marked 2.1 is companion friendly for at least one companion (note: there are only two functional chairs at each dining table, so it's really only fully suitable for one companion.)

OK, I'll add Silorn Manor to the list :).
Let me know if there are any further you want me to add later on.

It seems persistant furniture aren't that important. Pathgridding and no-ownership seems to be what really matters, and, of course , if the furniture is placed so companions can reach them. If you test with companions and they sit in the chairs, then you don't have to make the chairs persistant.

Thanks for posting this thread. When I play, Naz travels with Vilja and Amoz so companion friendly homes are a must, your list will be very handy. Also your information on how to make mods companion friendly is very helpful too. I'll be making sure Guild Benefits is before its released.

OK - Silorn Manor and Princess IC Waterfront Shack should be OK for companions now. If persistent furniture isn't that important, then most of my mods should be OK - I can just (ahem) furnish you with a list of the ones where there's no physical obstacle (e.g. like in Princess IC Apartment, where there's a wall in the way).

I've always pathgridded mods as a matter of course.

I've added your IC Waterfront Shack, too, Princess, and if you furnish med with that list, I'll be happy to add your other companionfriendly houses, too.

I have had Vilja use the bed in the guest quartes in Castle Wolfspike http://www.tesnexus.com/downloads/file.php?id=30288 and Castle Wolfspike V2 http://www.tesnexus.com/downloads/file.php?id=34320 and she uses the bed. She uses the chairs in the keep as well as the dining hall. She even sat on the throne once.

sounds good to me - a castle for a Queen, obviously, if she uses the throne :D.

I'll add it to the list - should you later find that it isn't really companionfriendly (lack of pathgrids etc) let me know.

Does anyone know if Centurion's other castle mods are companion friendly?

The ones in bold can go on your list.

http://princessstomper.wordpress.com/2009/02/23/better-tiber-septim-suite/
- Companion friendly? Sort of - probably not.
- sitting area: yes - seating for 3
- Sleeping: 2 spare beds that don't look like they're blocked, but Vilja got a bit confused by them

http://princessstomper.wordpress.com/2009/11/15/knights-add-ons/
Companion friendly? Yes! Vilja used her bed and chair

http://princessstomper.wordpress.com/2009/06/27/princess-anvil-basemant-2-0/
Companion friendly? Sort of. I had to lead Vilja and show her the bed, but she shared the double bed with me

Princess Anvil Seaside Shack
Companion friendly? No. Vilja would sit down but that meant I couldn't sit down, and she wouldn't use the (single) bed

http://princessstomper.wordpress.com/2009/03/01/princess-battlehorn-castle/
- Companion friendly? Sort of - Vilja had to be Summoned after getting lost between the main bedroom and the guest bedroom, but used the furniture once in there
- various dining and living areas
- Sleeping: spare bedroom area with 3 extra double beds

http://princessstomper.wordpress.com/2009/02/13/princess-cheydinhal-house-for-sale/
- Companion friendly? Yes, though may have trouble transitioning between cells
- Dining: four functional dining chairs
- Sleeping: 2x master bedrooms with double beds (one might be slightly restricted on one side); 1x spare bedroom 2 sgl beds; 1x spare bedroom 1x double bed

http://princessstomper.wordpress.com/2009/03/01/princess-crate-manor/ - yes, there's like a gazillion beds and chairs in it!

http://princessstomper.wordpress.com/2009/02/15/princess-db-sanctuary/
- Companion friendly? Sort of - Vilja uses the existing furniture and not anything added by this mod.
- Dining: two chairs
- Sleeping: one double bed with access both sides

http://princessstomper.wordpress.com/2009/03/01/princess-ic-apartment/
- Companion friendly? Surprisingly, yes!
- Dining: she didn't use the chair that I expected her to use but she found somewhere to sit
- Sleeping: Vilja used the downstairs bed

http://princessstomper.wordpress.com/2009/03/01/princess-ic-waterfront-shack/ - yes. Vilja used chairs and beds

http://princessstomper.wordpress.com/2009/03/29/passwall-home/
- Dining: yes, for two
- Sleeping: one double bed with access both sides in master bedroom; two small spare bedrooms on upper floor

http://princessstomper.wordpress.com/2009/03/24/sheogorath-palace/
- Companion friendly? Sort of
- Dining: Vilja didn't want to use any of the five available chairs
- Sleeping: two spare double beds - Vilja found one to use

http://princessstomper.wordpress.com/2009/05/02/silorn-manor/
- Companion friendly? Yes
- Dining: Despite flagging one chair as persistent, Vilja ignored that and sat somewhere else
- Sleeping: Vilja won't use either of the four-poster beds, and chose (on separate occasions) the small single bed, and the ordinary double bed, in the spare bedrooms

http://princessstomper.wordpress.com/2010/03/27/split-expansion/
- The rentable room in the tavern has what looks like a bunk bed, though there are none functional in the game. I put a concealed floormarker in the room, which Vilja immediately noticed, so when invited to sleep she just curled up on the floor next to the bed.

Sorry, I missed this.

I have Holly Cottage uploaded to Tes Nexus http://www.tesnexus.com/downloads/file.php?id=36343.

I may or may not upload Blue Rose Cottage. So you might want to remove it for now and if I do upload it I will let you know. :)

Will do but unlikely as the castle is pretty small compared to others. She succefully went out to the courtyard where I said she could wonder and she easily uses the places indoors.

But if something does come up, I will post back.

Princess, I added the houses you mentioned to the list, but I'm a bit unsure how you mean with this one:

Split Expansion
- The rentable room in the tavern has what looks like a bunk bed, though there are none functional in the game. I put a concealed floormarker in the room, which Vilja immediately noticed, so when invited to sleep she just curled up on the floor next to the bed.

From what I can see this expansion includes unique player-owned houses, but you are talking about Vilja sleeping on a floor in an inn. Aren't the houses companion-friendly?

Yes, there's one player-owned house. Vilja will sit down at the table with me, but there's only one bed which apparently I'm welcome to share with her! ;)

I've updated the list on my previous post with the other mods, now tested. It's tricky to say because she's quite mercurial generally - as are all companions - when it comes to sitting down i.e. if I sit at a table she'll go off and find a chair on the other side of the room. She also gets lost between cells easily if there are a lot of cell changes in a mod, though her Summon spell works very well.

Well, I guess if the one bed is a single bed it wouldn't be fair to call the house companion-friendly ;).

As for chairs, from what I have seen (by building houses and testing them with Vilja) she has a tendancy of picking the first chair I add to a cell first! So, it seems to be related to Form-IDs. with Vilja it is of course less of a problem than with other companions, as you can tell her to sit down first, and then take a seat next to her (unless she'll, as in one of Shezrie's houses, go and sit on the toilet chair!)

If she gets lost between cells, there must be something in how it is set up in the construction set that is causing this, as it isn't 'normal'. I don't know which of your house mods you might be refering to with this - I guess it is either Silorn or Knight's addon?

I'll update the list with the new houses you have highlighted in your list (but not with the one where she has to sleep on the floor in an inn) as soon as I've had supper (hubby calling for me now)

Sitting on the throne (toilet chair)! Shezrie's houses too!? I thought it was only my shack.

Hi, Emma. Got some information that might be helpful if anyone is trying to mod in a public place (inns?) All credit goes to PrincessStomper, since it was her suggestion. Chairs and beds can belong to the PlayerFaction if you don't want random NPCs using them, but still want them to be companion friendly. I have a couple rooms in the Mages Guilds that other NPCs can get to and they were trying to use my stuff. I only wanted me and my companions using them. Princess suggested setting ownership to PlayerFaction since companions usually belong to it. I tested it out and it works perfectly!

Can you blame her? The options are kind of limited in Cyrodiil. Good to see you, Vince!

I will add it :).
I'm assuming that you have at least one sparebed (or a doublebed) so that vilja also can sleep there?

Yep. There's a double bed and she does sleep in it, since there is no ownership set. She also sits at the table and uses other chairs too. She has no problem getting around either, since the Path Grid is in order in there as well.
