Looking for good cheap gaming laptop (Again :/)

Post » Fri Apr 08, 2011 12:22 am

Hello again! If you guys remembered me from my last post about a laptop then you know know a guy found a good laptop and I would get it. The problem is my family didint want to pitch in the $25/ hesitant to buy it.

The price went up beyond what they will pay for (Am cussing them out now about it ^_^) and so I need to find a another laptop. I been looking but nothing has come up yet. The closest I came was a onboard graphics card by ATI -_-. So while I want to murder my family using a Gatling Gun, any ideas on another laptop? $550 is max I can go and if it's a deal then it must last pass the 28th of January. Thanks!

call me crazy but I don't think a "gaming" laptop for 500 exists... If by games you mean stuff like runescape or WoW at the lowest of low settings, just go on dell.com and make one within your budget. But if you want gaming, the graphics card alone will cost 200+. I bought my laptop 3 years ago for 1100 and it was just slightly above average at the time with it's geforce 8600M GT.

What do you plan on playing on this thing?

Source games, Especially Garrysmod and Half-Life 2. I might also play some Guild Wars and Doom 3.

Most likely, it will have to be recertified, which means only 90 day warranty.

The 5470 is slightly better than the 310 for gaming. The i3 is a better CPU, and I'd rather have an Asus than an Ideapad.

The ASUS does gets more frames per second out of source games (if you just compare the graphics cards nothing else). With the ATI getting 40FPS and the NIVIDIA getting 45FPS so I guess it aint that bad. I will compare this with some personal searches and see what I turn up.
