looking for a house..

Post » Fri Dec 10, 2010 12:51 am

To be perfectly honest im getting really tired of the megaton house, not enough space and the robot is anoying, so i was wondering if anyone knew of a house mod NOT located in a city, and which doesnt have everything, something that fits the story, what i would like is abit more storage than the house in megaton has, and is... well more immersive (not sure if i spelled it right, english isnt my lang) i would check nexus if it wasnt that there is 935 different building mods to check throu..

thanks for the help..

There is a mod called Underground Hideout. It has a mini quest, lots of storage, Walls to place weapons on, and water purifier. One of the best house mods for people that don't want huge spaces.

Gotta plug ths house mods :)

http://www.fallout3nexus.com/downloads/file.php?id=12839 is a house mod that I made. I think it fits your criteria pretty well. It's a modest but compact house with a minimum of extraneous immersion-breaking features.

I use "Maintenance Shed" until I finish Power of the Atom. It's a down and dirty little hovel smack dab between Vault 101, Megaton, and Springvale. For storage, there are (off the top of my head, and in clockwise order):

(2) lockers, I use one for ammo and explosives and the other for 2H rifle type weapons or big heavy weapons
(1) metal box - my food storage and booze bin
(1) trunk - useful for hand weapons or 1H pistol type
(1) burlap sack - for sneaky stuff
(1) toolbox - for tools and schematic parts for making weapons
(1) metal storage unit (1 meter wide, 2 meters tall type with doors) that I use as a wardrove
(1) briefcase - for alien jewels, strange artifacts, money
(1) file cabinet - where toys get put (teddy bears, nuka-cola trucks, giddy-up buttercup toys)
(1) desk - pencils, paper, coffee cups, books, eyeglasses
(1) wall mounted medical box - for medical supplies like blood, drugs, stimpaks

I do tend to eventually move into Megaton, but the Megaton house lacks in storage.

Thanks for the plug! http://www.fallout3nexus.com/downloads/file.php?id=7115.

Edit:
Actually, there are:
2 lockers
4 metal boxes
1 burlap sack
1 footlocker
1 tool box
1 metal cabinet
1 briefcase
1 file cabinet
1 desk
1 medicine box

Plus, a makeshift bed (a piece of cardboard), a workbench, a functioning garbage can, and a camp fire outside you can turn on or off. (Oh, and an outhouse.)

My current favourite is http://www.fallout3nexus.com/downloads/file.php?id=5066. It pretty much has the same stuff you get in your Megaton house - work bench, first aid kit, laboratory. Those are toggleable via a switch on the wall. The terminal could be considered cheaty, but you don't have to use it :P
There's only one downside. Leave your followers outside, otherwise they get lost in the ether between the inside and outside. They do come back, but it takes a few fast travels / door zonings. There's not a whole lot of storage - oven, fridge, desk, safe, two lockers. Small and cozy and able to be parked anywhere. I especially liked the image of the house plonked in the middle of the Rivet City marketplace. I've done that
