Looking for a Location... To build a Mod :)

Post » Sun May 11, 2014 11:50 pm

Posting this here, because it's more World than Mod...

I'm planning to make a moderately-sized house Mod, and I am looking for the "perfect" location. I was hoping you adventurers might be able to help me out :)

I'm looking for somewhere that meets most/all of these 'requirements':

- On top of a broad/large-ish Cliff

- Near a Waterfall/River

- Not too close to any other locations (so, for example, not like "There's a cave at the bottom of the cliff" sort of place)

- Amazing view

- A little off the beaten path, but preferably not a super-long trek from civilization

There's a place in the Rift that is kind of perfect, but I've something else there and I'd get conflicts :/ So I was hoping someone else could maybe offer up a few suggestions I could check out? :)

Thanks in advance :)

Travel North or Northeast on the road leading out of Riverwood parallel to the river and waterfalls on the right side of the road. After a while you will see a huge tree that has fallen over but leaning on a hill at about a 30 degree angle. The area around that tree has some nice flat land for a small or medium house and the view looks down on Honningbrew Meadery, Whiterun, and the bridge.

Not exactly remote, but isolated enough because of the river and cliffs surrounding it.

What about whats referred to as the Skill tree. The giant waterfalls pour over a cliff from the Rift into Eastmarch. Its on a not so often used path that can take you towards Iverstad. Its not an actual marked location. But its the best cliff/waterfall I can think of. Its not right next to any civilization but Iversted is not to far. neither is Whiterun or Riverwood.

@Resident,

Is that the area just north of Nilheim? If it is, then it's where I've got something :/ But it's an awesome location :)

If not, do you have some cell co-ords? I'm looking for it in game now, but in case I don't find it... :)

@SF & GV, thanks for the suggestions, I'll take a look :D

Its called Big Log Bridge. Its actually considered part of Whiterun Hold. Its near the ruined toll and wispmother well. Its easier to spot if your heading from Iverstad towards Whiterun.

Ha ha, no worries. I noticed that spot the other day and used it to set up a nice campsite and love it.

yup. I'm never sure if it was my arrow that kills the bandit, or the arrow hitting the bandit, throwing him/her off balance and then they die when they hit the bottom lol

Either way, that's one of the hardest enemies to loot. ;)

true. I don't think I have ever bothered to look for the body. knowing the devs, they probably put the best loot in the game in that body. :D
