Looking for a mod that removes the pulsating and flickering

Post » Mon May 07, 2012 9:26 pm

My rig is not the best, I'll be the first to admit that. I am running Large texture settings at 1600x1024 resolution with distant land, trees, and buildings on. But I have to run a lowpoly grass mod bc it just wrecks my FPS if I don't.

Anyway, I get pretty decent FPS with these settings in the game world, around 30-35, which is plenty for me. I do however get a huge dip in FPS, down to around FIVE FPS, when I get near candles, or enter a room that has a lot of candles and as they flicker and pulsate my rig just comes to a halt. I have no clue why. It just has that effect on it.

So is there any mod that simply removes this flickering and pulsating of lights?

If you have Wrye Bash, you can apply that tweak in your Bashed Patch.

But if you are unwilling to go that route, http://www.tesnexus.com/downloads/file.php?id=6150 But note that the linked mod only affects vanilla light sources. Mod-added light sources will not be touched.

I'm not a fan of user content mods that add non canon quest and items into the game except a few small ones for a set of armor or a sword, etc. So having it not remove light flickering from mod sources isn't an issue. Thanks for the link!
Edit:
Just came back to say that it worked great, did exactly what I wanted. Thanks again. :foodndrink:

Wrye Bash isn't a user content mod. It's a mod installer, manager, packager and so much more.

I think he was referring to my quip about mod-added light sources. ;)

Anyways, by his own admission, he doesn't want a heavily modded game, so Wrye Bash will be of little use to him.

I'm quite aware of this. I don't know you would insinuate that I didn't know this. I was referring to the fact that he made it a point to tell me that the mod he linked didn't work with any user created content, I said that wouldn't be an issue because I don't use any user created content mods.
