As you may know, when we acquired all of the mods hosted at http://mw.modhistory.com/, they were basically just a series of big FTP uploads. Most of the mods were not categorized in any way, all of the information we had for them is what was in the readmes, and many of them were corrupt or too dirty to save. It has been a very big task to go through and anolyze and sort all of these.
Using john.moonsugar's amazing tools tes3cmd and teslint we were able to scan through all of them and identify many problems, and I was able to write a script that extracted readme descriptions from those that had a readme. The job is far from done though.
There are still a couple thousand mods that need to be categorized. And we are also working on improving descriptions, finding versions, putting up screenshots, etc. And we are having fun doing so!
In short, we are looking for volunteers who wish to step up and join the ranks of the Modding History Stewards. This will give you access to our MMH staff room where we discuss tasks, challenges, and ideas; you will also have full admin powers at the MMH site with the ability to edit all of the mods that we have. And you get a neat little rank banner at GHF. You will effectively be a member of the GHF staff, and get all of the appreciation and honor that entails.
http://www.fliggerty.com/phpBB3/memberlist.php?mode=viewprofile&u=2637 has recently taken on the role of Senior Curator, overseeing the Modding History staff and the efforts there. He has proven himself to be quite organized and up to the task of helping and guiding the Stewards in their task.
If you wish to help out, please contact either him or Fliggerty at http://www.fliggerty.com/phpBB3/index.php or BGSF.
Thanks to everyone who has helped out in the past, is currently helping out, and will help out in the future!
