Looking for new TV show

Post » Tue May 17, 2011 2:46 pm

I'm looking for HBO/Starz/Showtime series' that I can watch on Netflix online. I really want something based on medieval or Roman times. The series Rome isn't available, which is quite upsetting. I recently finished Spartacus:Blood and Sand.

I don't believe it can be streamed on Netflix but you should give serious consideration to I, Claudius

Unfortunately there are only so many Roman era TV series available. We're lucky to even have Rome and Spartacus. It's strange that Rome isn't available though. I watched it on Netflix instant queue a few months ago.

Nothing to do with Rome or Medieval times but I watched an episode of shameless the other night and I really loved it. Its pretty twisted and very advlt(not in a porm way), so obviously not everyone is going to enjoy it like I did.

Its not out yet, but this is coming out fairly soon on HBO (2 months but still what you are looking for). http://www.hbo.com/#/game-of-thrones Other then that, Spartacus is decent. The first season was enjoyable and so far the second season is ok.

No idea if it's available, but Spartacus: Gods of the Arena is great as well. :goodjob:

Also watched the released episodes of that. Love 'em.

Is there any site that lets you download them? Legally of course. Netflix seems to lack most streams and I wanna buy them to watch online...iTunes is expensive.

Forget sword n sandals, got watch Portlandia. Hilarious.

Everyone pretty much already suggested all the series of that theme. One movie that I think is on netflix is

Centurion

Action/adventure set in the days of the roman empire.

I was disapointed with Centurion, it set a good foundation but the story itself felt too formulaic. Still if someone is really looking for Roman era content on Netflix that will kill an hour or two.

It would make a good launching point for a TV series now that I think of it.
