I'm using books of Vvardenfell which add unenchanted alchemy scrolls, they don't have a mesh however and afaik the vanilla game only has enchanted scroll meshes, any advice?

Do you mean removing the plastic-wrap shimmering enchant look? I've been using http://www.nexusmods.com/morrowind/mods/20872/ for ever.

Works great, what is the vanilla scroll mesh file name/location? I get a Meshes\m\Text_Scroll_Uvi_01.NIF cannot load file error when I try to drop a recipe scroll from books of Vvardenfell.

The vanilla one is @ Meshes\m\Text_Scroll_01.nif I believe.
I do have Text_Scroll_Uvi_01.nif in my game. Perhaps it comes with Uvirith's Legacy?
