Looking for a talented mesh maker to help me out!

Okay. Hopefully someone here will be able to give me a hand with this. :)

In my mod, I have a restaurant/bar run by a Chinese Remnant ghoul named Chow Hoy, and his bar is called "Hoy's Chow".
"Welcome to Hoy's Chow, I'm the owner, Chow Hoy. Get it? Ha-hah! I love your American puns!"

(apprently - I can't speak a word of Cantonese mind you, so please correct me if I'm wrong- "Chow Hoy" means "piss off" in Cantonese, which considering my character's love of puns, I thought was too amusing to pass up. :D)

Anyway, now that I've got the background out of the way, basically what I need is a flickering neon sign that says "Hoy's Chow". The colour is unimportant (though red might look good), and if possible, I'd like it propped up on a piece of metal so that I can hang it on a wall somewhere or whatever. http://www.fontspace.com/fenotype/neon or http://www.fontspace.com/nicks-fonts/drive-thru would look good, IMO.

So... hopefully this isn't too much to ask! :)

I guess I'm kind of hung up on the idea of a neon sign since I've been watching this awesome Fallout machinima series called http://www.youtube.com/thebaestproductions, and there's some great neon signs in it.

I figured there must be some quick 'n dirty way to make a sign glow and flicker without a lot of modelling. :D

The model and textures are almost trivial, the problem for me would be the transforms that makes it flicker. It might be possible to shop chop up the brass lantern sign mesh and just use that with a new texture though.

Edit: typo. :)

Actually, since blender takes forever to export .kf's for some reason, I had some spare time to give it a shot: http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v483/Tubal/F3/HoysChow.jpg.
The large sign is a composite of 2 screens to show it both on and off. It flickers very quickly, but since I'm running about a hundred mods I'm not entirely sure that's vanilla or not (it probably is though).
I'm not so sure about the font, and it could probably be done better either way, but I reworked the texture so it's a new image and therefore easy to change.

I kept the sign background (texture probably modified by NMC's texture pack btw), but I could remove it if you want just the flashing letters. You could then mount it where ever you want.

Edit: I could make the sign a different shape too. It's just a plane, so reworking it is simple.

Nice Tubal. :) Messing with transforms is something I have yet to learn, but wanted to. I'm very interested in this.

Did you use two models and just switch between them in-game via script? Or is the flickering all done in the model?

Cheers,

The flickering is done by the model itself, probably by shutting off and on the glow-map. Honestly though I didn't need to bother with any of it, I just used the original mesh and imported my modified mesh in the apropriate places. :)
Blender doesn't export transforms it seems, so I had to copy/paste between the modified and the original.

Wow, that's pretty awesome. :D
You're right about the font, I think, but still... wow!
