Mod Description And Such
========================
If you're like me, you enjoyed the rather large exterior region that Point Lookout added, but got pretty fidgety after a while without any kind of radio to listen to in-game. That's why I ended up making this mod, to add a whole new radio station - one to match Point Lookout's atmosphere, to boot. This station includes 20 vintage tracks, mostly old folk (or hillbilly, or mountain, or Appalachian, or old-time, call it what you like) music recorded during the 30's and 40's. Hopefully if you use this mod you'll agree that this selection fits right along with your gameplay in the Point Lookout region. If not, hey, don't blame me - the place is such a hodgepodge of elements (hill people in the swamps, mountain coal mines overlooking... the Chesapeake Bay?) that processing it all can be enough to make me go cross-eyed.
The regionally and/or geographically astute may well note that the station might make a bit more sense coming from southwest of the Capital Wasteland, and I'd agree - but that doesn't give us anything to listen to down in Point Lookout, does it? Anyhow, what you got here is 20 songs of tragedy, prohibition, drinking, dying, being poor, killing, an occasional railroad, a tiny bit of goofiness, and sometimes a friendly reminder that the Lord and your momma don't want you doing any of this stuff -- all set to fiddle, guitar, banjo, harmonica, and... jug. Oh yes, we got some jug band action.
As the station goes now, it's set to play in the exterior cells and linked interiors in the Point Lookout area. There's no DJ, and I haven't gotten my head around the scripting enough yet to set the playlist to prevent track repetition (looks simple though, and after reading up a bit on it that's the first on my to-do list). I hope to start expanding/tuning up soon, but I wanted to lay out the bare bones for the station (and maybe gauge interest in the project - if everybody tells me to go to hell then hey, there's some time saved).
If you enjoy the mod, that's great. If you love the music as much as I do now, that's even greater. If you have any suggestions for more tracks and/or other ideas that might make the station grow, I'm all ears. If you hate the music, feel free to not tell me, because I couldn't care less. Go listen to your hophipping or rat music or whatever you kids are into nowadays.
IF IT HASN'T BEEN MADE CLEAR ENOUGH YET, THIS MOD REQUIRES THE POINT LOOKOUT DLC.
